Background/Purpose[]

When are we wrapping this thing up? I think it would help if people knew they needed to cosponsor by a certain time. -- Adam B.

Latona inserted this concern in the section outlining administrative assistant duties: "Aren't they on the committee. They should have an equal say with everyone. They should not be minions." I reworded it in a way that I felt addressed Latona's concern while keeping with the general idea of the section. Hopefully, she'll correct it if I messed it up. --Adam B.

Structure[]

I do not think that a maintained list of Grinnell activists is a low priority at all. I think that this is essential to our functioning. -Latona (?)

I agree -- that seems especially true, since the Outreach part of the proposal specifically mentions that as their principal purpose. -Linn

There were notes in this section about adding "Budget" as a responsibility of the paid administrators. We haven't really discussed this before, but I've been thinking more and more that this might be a good idea. First of all, keeping track of it would be pretty mundane but really important to keep track of all the time and get done on time. At all the other groups I can think of with standing budgets, the person managing it is paid, even if no one else is -- the SRC, SGA, SPARC/the publications media-heads, Rosenfield & Peace Studies Committees.... Anyway, does that sounds like an agreeable addition to the adminstrative assistant duties? -Linn

Location[]

I know the SRC is leaving Loose Pit... Is there any chance the Center could be put there? -- Chris Neubert

The word we have is that the SRC is being converted into lounge space/ student rooms. The only other free space we could think of was the loggia-side pit rooms. -- Adam Barrett

I like putting this in the Campus Center. Particularly, we really need a big, physical monthly/weekly calendar in a central location on campus. It's easy for events you really care to never make it to your radar when you have to check bulletin boards, websites, and loggia walls. A physical calendar is easier to read than the online campus calendar, which is just a long vertical list that lists on-going events and events that aren't really pertinent to the whole campus. Activism shouldn't be hidden away from the public, but the calendar idea should definitely make it to the Campus Center. --Laura Cathey

Other wikis[]

There is also an Activism wiki which you are welcome to edit. Perhaps that would be a better place for your proposal than here on Scratchpad? It's up to you though - use whichever wiki you prefer. :) Angela (talk) 04:27, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
