Ca. 1976 The 4th Street Orchestra appeared for the first time on a record, produced for Dennis Harris' Concrete Jungle and Rama labels (see: & in 1976 and remained a clone of Dennis Bovell's Matumbi until 1978.

On their second album Leggo! (Ah-Fi-We-Dis) Rico played his horn on most of the tracks.
