Built by Kuat Drive Yards in 21BBY the ship is an Alpha-Twelve Niner class Medium bulk freighter. It was given the registration number KYMFA12N.238 and sold in a batch as one of a hundred of the same class to a small cargo transport company called QTZ. It worked transporting supplies between the core worlds and the Clone War’s front lines transporting medical supplies, foodstuffs and other essentials needed by the civilians. Unfortunately at the end of the war the QTZ Corporation collapsed under the new political regime, its assets were sold off including KYMFA12N.238.
The ship was bought cheaply by a mercenary who renamed it The Echo and quickly went about using it to transport cargo from the core to the rim as it did before, only this time with less legitimate cargo. A year after it’s purchase it had a ‘Corellian’ refit by having a second turret added to its underside, quick-drop hanger for a Z-95 Headhunter and general defence improvements.
The ship served under this mercenary for a further three years mostly smuggling until it came into the Mercenary decided to retire. As a retirement celebration the man played a high stakes game of Sabacc with other Mercenaries on Bespin Cloud City including Nic White. With a little help from his first mate, Jana Vincent, Nic won the game and the ship with it.
The initial layout
It's a medium Kuat Freighter that dates back to the Clone Wars. It has greatly improved engines and shields. It has also had a second turret placed on the dorsal hull and has had part of the cargo hold turned into a 'quick drop' Hanger for a Z-95 Headhunter. The ship has a small forward bridge for the captain, pilot and a passenger, This leads into the common room, where food can be prepared and consumed. It is also where the crew can relax and play games like Dejaric or Sabacc. Across from the entrance to the bridge, a small corridor runs aft, with access to the ventral and dorsal turrets by ladder. The corridor continues aft, ending in the engineering section. Off the corridor are ten sleeping quarters for the crew and passengers. Ladders to the lower level are located in the common room and the ladders to the turret also lead to the lower level.
The lower level is one large cargo hold with catwalks along walls, the rear has a small hanger that holds the Z-95, the cockpit is accessed via the catwalks. The hanger has doors under the hunter to allow the fighter to drop out of the ship and quickly get to action. The loading ramp is on the starboard side of the ship.
When the ship made a brief trip to the Watchtower System, Reibe Vailar ordered some modifications to make it much easier to access her fighter. The new docking port was installed in the cargo bay on the port side. The fighter enters the new docking port nose first and the docking port seals around the fighter just behind the cockpit. The access to the port from the inside of the ship is locked, for Reibe's access only. The catwalk's path has been altered to pass around the new addition.
