The Falling Star from Space is the fourteenth Episode of The Simpsons fifth season. It originally aired on the Fox Network in the United States on February 17, 1994. In the Episode, a giant Meteor from Space lands on the Atlantic Ocean with a newly discovered Mineral called "Cricalite". Together with Tintin, Captain Haddock, Cuthbert Calculus, Thompson and Thomson, Sophocles Sarcophagus and many, many more, Homer, Lenny, Carl, Frink, Moe and all of his Friends and Family set out to find the Meteor while the Scrammer Brothers, Fat Tony, Sideshow Bob, the Bird Brothers, Ramon Bada, Alonso Perez, Mr. Bohlwinkel and Roberto Rastapopolous are out to destroy the Meteor.

The Episode was written by Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein, directed by Jeffery Lynch and guest animated and directed by D.B. Sweeney, Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Kent Butterworth, Rich Moore and Wes Archer. The Episode is inspired by Herge's The Adventures of Tintin Comic Book The Shooting Star. Since airing, the Episode has recieved extremly positive reviews from Television Critics and Fans. It won two Emmys including Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program and Outstanding Voice-Over Performance.

Homer, Tintin, Lenny, Carl, Frink, Moe, Captain Haddock, Dr. Sarcophagus and Thompson and Thomson were having a walk at night when they saw a Star growing big.
