Script

Act 1

  • (We open this episode with the Thomas and Friends Season 6 intro)
  • (After that, we begin the character introduction)
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas is a really useful engine. Here's Percy. He is a very happy engine. James is a magnificent engine. Gordon is the most fastest engine on the Island of Sodor. Henry is long and fast. Here's Edward always here to help. Toby is a different engine. He's a tram engine.
  • (A passing by sequence occurs and we begin The World's Strongest Engine)
  • Alec Baldwin: The engines on the Island of Sodor liked feeling responsible, reliable and really useful. They worked hard to compete their jobs on time. They don't like confusion and delay. But the troublesome trucks delighted mischief and their mischief causes trouble as poor Henry found out.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Henry has had an accident and been sent for repairs.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: There are no other engines available. So Diesel will help until Henry returns.
  • Engines: Yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed the engines, but they weren't happy. The engines didn't like Diesel he was always being rude and always showing off.
  • Percy: I hope Henry's mended soon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Percy.
  • Thomas: He moves more trucks than three Diesels put together.
  • Alec Baldwin: Agreed Thomas.
  • Gordon: Trucks are no one's friends.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed Gordon. The next day, Diesel was working at the docks.
  • Diesel: When Sir Topham Hatt sees how good I am.
  • Alec Baldwin: He bragged to the trucks.
  • Diesel: He'll get rid of steam engines once and for all.
  • Alec Baldwin: This gave the troublesome trucks an idea. As Diesel was shunting them together, they started to sing.
  • Troublesome Trucks: (singing) Is that all you can haul, Henry loads are longer, is that all you can haul, Henry must be stronger.
  • Alec Baldwin: Diesel was cross. He was sure to be stronger than Henry.
  • Diesel: I'll push you all at the same time.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said. The trucks giggled.
  • Troublesome Trucks: (singing) Push us all, that's the longest, push us all, you'll be the strongest.
  • Diesel: That's me.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Diesel.
  • Diesel: The world's strongest engine.
  • Alec Baldwin: And Diesel shunted five trucks together, then ten, then fifteen. Soon he had an enormous line of twenty trucks.
  • Percy: What's Diesel doing?
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy.
  • Thomas: He thinks he's the world's strongest engine.
  • Alec Baldwin: Replied Thomas. Diesel didn't know the shunters have the brakes on the trucks. The troublesome trucks knew, but encouraged Diesel to push anyway.
  • Troublesome Trucks: Push, push, push!
  • Alec Baldwin: Diesel pushed and he pushed and he pushed, but the trucks didn't move. So Diesel decided to pull the trucks instead.
  • Troublesome Trucks: (singing) Heave ho, heave ho, you can pull but we wont go.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sang the trucks. This made Diesel very cross. He pulled and he pulled and he pulled.
  • Diesel: Help!
  • (Diesel falls into a barge)
  • Diesel: Grease and oil!
  • Alec Baldwin: Diesel sulked as the trucks laughed and laughed. Sir Topham Hatt looked down crossly at Diesel.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I thought you would be a proper dockyard diesel, but I was wrong.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Can you make up for lost time, Henry?
  • Henry: Oh yes, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Henry replied happily. He backed up to the trucks and the shunters released the brakes. Then Henry pulled away as easy as pie.
  • (Henry pulls the lined cars away)
  • Alec Baldwin: And the engines cheered. Diesel was sent home in disgrace, but the engines had learned a lesson.
  • Thomas: Even troublesome trucks can do you a favor sometime.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuffed Thomas.
  • Percy: Like getting rid of a smelly old Diesel.
  • Alec Baldwin: Puffed Percy.
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin Come For The Ride)
  • Girl: (singing) All your friends on the railway would like you all to see.
  • Children: (singing) Just how much fun rockin' on the railway can be.
  • Boy: (singing) So won't you come along and join them for the ride.
  • Children: (singing) Just hang on tight, catch your breath, and come for the ride! Rockin', rockin' on the railway, Rollin', rollin' on the railway, Movin', movin' down the line, Swingin', sway from side to side. They'll be rockin' an' a-rollin' won't you come for the ride of your life?
  • Boy: (singing) Watch Duncan go, he can really rock 'n' roll.
  • Children: (singing) He can slip, he can slide, he can sway from side to side.
  • Girl: (singing) So when you hear him coming and you hear his whistle blow.
  • Children: (singing) You'd better step aside 'cause he can go go go! Rockin', rockin' on the railway, Rollin', rollin' on the railway, Movin', movin' down the line, Swingin', sway from side to side. They'll be rockin' an' a-rollin' won't you come for the ride of your life? Now we're really moving, movin' to an' fro. Everyone around shouting "More! More! More!" Rockin', rockin' on the railway, Rollin', rollin' on the railway Movin', movin' down the line, Swingin', sway from side to side. They'll be rockin' an' a-rollin' won't you come for the ride of your life? They'll be rockin' an' a-rollin' won't you come for the ride of your life? They'll be rockin' an' a-rollin' won't you come for the ride of your life? Come for the ride!

Act 2

  • (Act 2 opens with James and The Red Balloon)
  • Alec Baldwin: It is summer holiday time on the Island of Sodor. Vacationers come far and wide to enjoy the beauty of the island. It is the busiest time of the year for Sir Topham Hatt's engines. Thomas was excited. Sir Topham Hatt had sent him to pick up a special to deliver to Dryaw airfield.
  • Percy: What have you got there?
  • Alec Baldwin: Tooted Percy.
  • Thomas: A balloon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Replied Thomas.
  • Percy: A party balloon?
  • Alec Baldwin: Asked Percy excitedly.
  • Thomas: No.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: This is a very special balloon.
  • Alec Baldwin: And he chuffed away. Soon, Thomas arrived at the airfield and hot air was puffed into the balloon.
  • James: What is that?
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed James.
  • Thomas: A hot air balloon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: It would take vacationers on rides around the island.
  • James: Taking vacationers on rides around the island is our job.
  • Alec Baldwin: Wheeshed James jealously. Then, as if by magic, the hot air balloon rose silently up into the sky.
  • James: What if the hot air balloon takes our passengers away.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuffed James.
  • James: What would happen to us then.
  • Alec Baldwin: This made Thomas worried. Suddenly, he wasn't so excited about the balloon. The balloon can be seen by everyone on the Island of Sodor. Duck gazed at it for so long, he ran into the back of Stepney.
  • Donald: Why, it's a floating basket with folks in it...
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Donald.
  • Douglas: Whatever would they dream up next?
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Douglas. James and Thomas were waiting at the level crossing. They were still worried about the hot air balloon.
  • Thomas: If it takes our passengers away...
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuffed Thomas.
  • Thomas: They'll be no use for us engines.
  • James: Passengers should travel on trains.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed James.
  • James: Not in silly balloons.
  • Alec Baldwin: Then something big and round and red drifted straight towards them.
  • Voice: We're out of hot air!
  • Alec Baldwin: Shouted a voice.
  • James: Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried James.
  • James: What's happening?!
  • Alec Baldwin: Crash! Bang! Wallop! Went the balloon and landed right on top of James. He was so scared, he let out a huge burst of steam which blew the balloon up again. The balloon rose into the air once more.
  • James' Driver: Well done, James.
  • Alec Baldwin: Called his driver.
  • James' Driver: Your hot air did the trick.
  • Thomas: Oh no, James.
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Thomas.
  • Thomas: You saved the hot air balloon.
  • James: I didn't mean to.
  • Alec Baldwin: Groaned James.
  • James: Now we're sure to take our passengers.
  • Alec Baldwin: Wherever James went, he could see the balloon carrying vacationers across the island. He felt he should be taking those passengers.
  • James: Rails are better than hot air any day.
  • Alec Baldwin: James arrived back at the station. There were lots of people on the platform. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting too.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well done, James.
  • James: But now the passengers will ride in the hot air balloon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt laughed.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You're right, James.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: But they will need a ride home in a train.
  • Alec Baldwin: James was delighted. Sir Topham Hatt was right. The engines were busier than ever. Taking vacationers to and from the airfield. Whenever James sees the red balloon, he whistles and toots. And sometimes when he's asleep at night, James dreams he can fly too. Just like the red balloon.
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin James The Really Splendid Engine)
  • Children: (singing) He's a really splendid engine, everybody knows, But he does go on and on and on, always telling us so! He is a splendid fellow, but he really is quite vain. Who do we mean?
  • Girl: You got it!
  • Children: James!
  • (Conductor's whistle blows)
  • Children: (singing) Take a look who's coming down the track, Make way for James, hooray for James. Shiny shiny paint with the jet-black stack, Make way for James, hooray for James. What it is for certain and we really should note.
  • Girl: It's indisputable, but let's take a vote.
  • Children: (singing) He's the really splendid engine with the bright red coat. James, (ee-oh) He can brag all day - how fast he goes, How good he looks — he's such a pose. But what about the time he got covered in mud, Oh, what a dope, what a dud! But up and down the line you'll hear the others say, "Despite his vanity, he really is okay. Dependable, reliable, and seldom late, We all think James is great!" Look who's swaning it down the track. Make way for James, hooray for James. He never looks up, he never looks back, Make way for James, hooray for James. A tad conceited, and really quite vain, He knows we love him just the same. Take a look who's coming down the track, Make way for James, hooray for James. Shiny shiny paint with the jet-black stack. Make way for James, hooray for James. He's the really splendid engine, shiny, shiny engine. He's the really splendid engine, yep, that's our James.
  • Man: That's James!
  • (Percy's whistle toots)
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • (We follow the commercials after Act 2)

Act 3

  • (The final act happens with Gordon Takes A Tumble)
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt's engines are proud of how useful they are. It makes them feel important. But none of them feels more important than Gordon.
  • Gordon: Watch out!
  • Alec Baldwin: Gordon wheeshed.
  • Gordon: You'll get my paint all sooty.
  • Salty: Pulling freight cars is a sooty job.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Salty.
  • Salty: But then you wouldn't know.
  • Gordon: Of course not.
  • Alec Baldwin: Gordon huffed importantly.
  • Gordon: Express engines don't pull freight cars it wouldn't be dignified.
  • Percy: Dingyfried?
  • Alec Baldwin: Puzzled Percy.
  • Percy: What's that?
  • Gordon: Dignified.
  • Alec Baldwin: Gordon corrected.
  • Gordon: It means...
  • Salty: It means if someone's too big for his buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Salty.
  • Gordon: Pah!
  • Alec Baldwin: Puffed Gordon and he puffed away. That evening, fog covered the Island of Sodor. Everything slowed down and soon the docks were packed with waiting freight cars. This caused confusion and delay. Sir Topham Hatt came to the sheds. He was in a great hurry.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Henry, Thomas and Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You must go to the docks immediately.
  • Henry, Thomas and Percy: Yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: They whistled. Then Sir Topham Hatt turned to the big blue engine.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You too, Gordon.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I need an engine to take the freight cars where they won't be in a way.
  • Gordon: Freight cars!?
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed Gordon. He could not believe what he had heard. Gordon wasn't happy to be pulling freight cars. He waited impatiently while they were shunted into place.
  • Gordon: Hurry up, hurry up.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuffed Gordon crossly.
  • Thomas: Why the rush, Gordon?
  • Alec Baldwin: Asked Thomas.
  • Gordon: If I must pull freight cars then I'll show Salty how an express engine pulls freight cars.
  • Alec Baldwin: Gordon huffed.
  • Salty: Careful, captain.
  • Alec Baldwin: Salty tooted.
  • Salty: You don't wanna get too big for your buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: But Gordon ignored Salty. The next morning, Gordon raced along with his heavy load.
  • Gordon: Now this is how you pull freight cars.
  • Alec Baldwin: He puffed. But the signalman had accidentally left the points switched to the branch line. Gordon rattled through the junction.
  • Gordon: That's strange, I'm on the branch line.
  • Signalman: Oh no!
  • Alec Baldwin: The signalman cried.
  • Signalman: Express trains aren't supposed to go that way.
  • Alec Baldwin: But it was too late. Gordon had already raced into the distance. The old branch line was weak and rusty. There were signs warning all the trains to go slow. But Gordon ignored the sign.
  • Gordon: I'm an express engine I don't go slow.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said and he went even faster. The branch line couldn't take his weight and the rails buckled.
  • Gordon: Oh help!
  • Alec Baldwin: Gordon cried as he slid off the tracks and into a field.
  • (Gordon runs over a pile of hay, towards some tires making him lose his tender and into a barn)
  • Alec Baldwin: No one was hurt, but poor Gordon felt very undignified.
  • Gordon: What will Sir Topham Hatt say?
  • Alec Baldwin: He groaned. He found out soon enough.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well, Gordon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You wanted to show Salty a thing or two and you certainly done that. You showed him how silly it is to ignore go slow signs.
  • Gordon: Sorry, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Gordon and he let out a sad wheesh of steam. Gordon was soon repaired and back at the docks for work. He was very unhappy with himself.
  • Thomas: Everyone makes mistakes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: Even you.
  • James: Salty's sorry he teased you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed James.
  • Gordon: And I'm sorry I was too big for my buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuffed Gordon. And all the engines gave a jolly toot even Gordon.
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin Accidents Will Happen)
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • Children: (singing) Thrills and spills on the railway, it's a life of happiness. But sometimes impatience can lead to carelessness.
  • Boy: (singing) Some think they are smart cats...
  • Girl: (singing) ...and some just know it all.
  • Children: (singing) But sooner or later we all find out that... Accidents happen now and again. Just when you least expect. Just when you think that life is okay, fate comes to collect. Accidents happen now and again, when people or trains get smart. If you don't concentrate on the thing that you're doing. Accidents will happen just like that. The warning signs are there for us to see most of the time. But sometimes we take chances, ignore the danger signs. Fate can surprise with no reason or rhyme. Make sure you'll learn your lesson. You'll know better next time. Accidents happen now and again. Just when you least expect. Just when you think that life is okay. Fate comes to collect. Accidents happen now and again, when people or trains get smart, if you don't concentrate on the thing that you're doing. Accidents will happen just like that. Accidents happen now and again. Sometimes just by chance. You gotta pick yourself up and dust yourself down put it down to experience. Accidents happen now and again, just don't take it all to heart.
  • Girl: If you don't concentrate on the thing that you're doing whatever you're doing is not what you're thinking.
  • Children: (singing) Accidents, incidents. Accidents, incidents, accidents happen just like that.
  • (Gordon crashed into the wall)
  • (Following the last song, we find the end credits with Thomas looking at us)
  • (While they roll, the Thomas end theme plays)
  • (After that, the 2003 HiT Entertainment logo appears)
