Seeing The Sights

  • Michael Brandon: Seeing The Sights. There are lots of wonderful sights to see on the Island of Sodor. One summer's day, Thomas was given a very special job.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You are to collect some very important visitors from the mainland. They are arriving at Brendam Docks.
  • Thomas: Yes, sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Thomas happily.
  • Thomas: I will show them all the sights of Sodor.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas puffs happily towards Brendam Docks. Thomas pulled up at the Gang Plain.
  • Thomas: Welcome aboard!
  • Michael Brandon: He tooted.
  • Thomas: I will show you all the wonderful sights of Sodor.
  • Michael Brandon: Just then, Gordon steamed in.
  • Gordon: I should be showing the sights to the important visitors.
  • Michael Brandon: He sniffed.
  • Thomas: Why?
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Thomas.
  • Gordon: Because...
  • Michael Brandon: Wheeshed Gordon.
  • Gordon: I could show them around much more quickly than you. Then they would see there is to see on Sodor.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas was cross.
  • Thomas: I can show them all the sights just as quickly as you can.
  • Michael Brandon: He whistled.
  • Thomas: Just you wait and see.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas heard passengers car-doors slammed.
  • Thomas: Everyone's on board.
  • Michael Brandon: He huffed and he chuffed away as quickly as he could.
  • Thomas: So much to see, so much to see. Let's get a move on. Count on me.
  • Michael Brandon: Then, there was trouble. Thomas had left so many visitors behind. Later, Thomas had to wait at a signal. Bertie the Bus drove up. He had picked up the passengers Thomas had left behind. Bertie honked his horn. But the signal had changed and Thomas puffed away. Thomas was in a hurry.
  • Bertie: Silly tank engine!
  • Michael Brandon: Popped Bertie.
  • Bertie: I will chase after you.
  • Michael Brandon: The children on board Bertie thought a chase was great fun. Thomas arrived at Black Loch.
  • Thomas: Everyone out to see the seals.
  • Michael Brandon: He tooted.
  • Thomas: Hurry up, hurry up.
  • Michael Brandon: The visitors took the cameras to see Black Loch. Thomas had to wait. He didn't like waiting. He had to show the visitors all the sights.
  • Thomas: Otherwise.
  • Michael Brandon: He thought.
  • Thomas: I will do as fast as Gordon. Time to go!
  • Michael Brandon: He peeped loudly. Thomas heard the passenger car-doors slammed.
  • Thomas: Everyone must be on board.
  • Michael Brandon: He thought. And Thomas chuffed away as fast as he could. But Thomas had left more of the visitors behind. Soon, Thomas arrived at the Scottish Castle.
  • Thomas: Everyone out!
  • Michael Brandon: He peeped.
  • Thomas: Hurry up, hurry up.
  • Michael Brandon: Then Thomas had to wait again. He wheeshed some steam. And he started to worry.
  • Thomas: We had never see everything if we don't hurry up.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas wheeshed.
  • Thomas: Everyone back on board, please.
  • Michael Brandon: Just then, Gordon steamed in.
  • Gordon: Flatten my funnel.
  • Michael Brandon: Sniffed Gordon.
  • Gordon: You haven't seen many sights.
  • Thomas: Yes we have and we're going to see more.
  • Michael Brandon: Huffed Thomas. He was cross. He puffed away as quickly as he could. But more visitors were left behind. Thomas steamed into the fishing village.
  • Thomas: There's the next sight.
  • Michael Brandon: He puffed.
  • Thomas: Everybody out please.
  • Michael Brandon: But Thomas couldn't here any passenger car-doors opening. He was puzzled. Just then, Bertie arrived.
  • Thomas: What's happening?
  • Michael Brandon: Asked Thomas.
  • Bertie: No one's getting out, Thomas.
  • Michael Brandon: Beeped Bertie.
  • Bertie: Because no one is left on board.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas was surprised.
  • Thomas: Cinders and Ashes!
  • Michael Brandon: Gasped Thomas.
  • Bertie: You are in so much of a hurry. You left them all behind.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas was upset.
  • Thomas: I must go back and pick everyone up.
  • Michael Brandon: But first, he collected the visitors from Bertie the Bus and he steamed back to the castle. He picked up his passengers. And puffed quickly back to Black Loch. With all the visitors on board, Thomas set off again. Thomas had to stop at a junction. He looked at the view of the sea. It was beautiful.
  • Thomas: I wish we could just stay here all day.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas wheeshed.
  • Thomas: There are so many things to do.
  • Michael Brandon: The visitors looked out of their windows. Their faces smiled when they saw blue sea and the golden yellow sand. Suddenly, Thomas had an idea.
  • Thomas: We will stay here all day!
  • Michael Brandon: He whistled. The visitors had a lovely time. Making sandcastles, riding donkeys, and eating ice creams. Thomas was very happy.
  • Gordon: You won't see all the sights eating ice cream.
  • Michael Brandon: Sniffed Gordon.
  • Thomas: It's better to see one place probably and lots of places in a hurry.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas chuffed happily. And all the visitors agreed.

Which Way Now?

  • Michael Brandon: Which Way Now?. It was summer on the Island of Sodor. Lots of vacationers like to visit the mountains. They like to hike along the beautiful mountain trails. The trails follow the railway lines through forests. By rushing rivers, and around lovely lakes. Today, Rusty has two very important jobs. First, he has to take some workers to put up new signposts along the trails. The signpost show hikers which way to go. Rusty want the workers to finish quickly. His next job was to pick up Sir Topham Hatt, his wife and their grandchildren from the wharf. They were all going for a hike by the lake. Rusty didn't want to be late. He hurried to the next location. Rusty was almost bursting. He wanted to get away.
  • Rusty: It's time to go! It's time to go!
  • Michael Brandon: He called.
  • Workers: We haven't finished our jobs.
  • Michael Brandon: Said the workers.
  • Rusty: But we have to leave now.
  • Michael Brandon: Rusty honked.
  • Rusty: I can't be late for Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Michael Brandon: But when Rusty arrived, he wasn't late; he was early. Thomas puffed up to say hello.
  • Thomas: You look happy.
  • Michael Brandon: Tooted Thomas.
  • Rusty: I am.
  • Michael Brandon: Honked Rusty. When Sir Topham Hatt and his family arrived, they were very excited. They climbed on board Rusty's car and set off at the day of the lake. Rusty took them to the start of their hike.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: We'll see you later and the cafe.
  • Michael Brandon: Boomed Sir Topham Hatt. And Rusty chugged cheerfully away. Rusty did all his other jobs as quickly as possible. He had to be on time to pick up Sir Topham Hatt and his family at the cafe. But when he arrived at the cafe, Sir Topham Hatt wasn't there. Rusty was puzzled.
  • Rusty: They should be here by now.
  • Michael Brandon: Rusty began to worry. Rusty decided to look for them.
  • Rusty: I'm sure they can be far away.
  • Michael Brandon: He thought. At the quarry, Rusty found the group of campers. They were putting up their tents. Rusty asked if they had seen Sir Topham Hatt and his family.
  • Campers: No, we haven't.
  • Michael Brandon: Said the campers. Then, Rusty met the party of fishermen at the coal mine.
  • Rusty: Have you seen Sir Topham Hatt?
  • Michael Brandon: He asked.
  • Fishermen: No.
  • Michael Brandon: Said the fishermen. At the Ruin Castle, Rusty found the group of skiers. They hadn't seen Sir Topham Hatt and his family either. Rusty puffed on. And then, he stopped.
  • Rusty: Hmm, this is very strange.
  • Michael Brandon: He puzzled.
  • Rusty: Why would the skiers at the Ruin Castle? And the fishermen at the coal mine? And the campers at the quarry? Bust my buffers!
  • Michael Brandon: Rusty honked.
  • Rusty: The signpost must be all pointed in the wrong direction! I made the workmen rushed. This is all my fault.
  • Michael Brandon: Rusty knew he had to go back to the place Sir Topham Hatt and his family had started from. Then, follow the signs they had followed. So Rusty raced off. Soon Rusty arrived at the place where he dropped off Sir Topham Hatt. He looked at the signpost. The signpost wasn't pointing at the lake. It was pointing towards the hills.
  • Rusty: That's the way to Hill Farm.
  • Michael Brandon: Thought Rusty. Rusty chugged up the steep track towards the farm as fast as he could. When Rusty arrived at Hill Farm, he found Sir Topham Hatt and his family. Rusty explained all about the signposts.
  • Rusty: I'm sorry, sir.
  • Michael Brandon: He said sadly.
  • Rusty: I spoiled your day. You want to go to the lake. And now you're in Hill Farm.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: But we're having a wonderful day.
  • Michael Brandon: Boomed Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: The children had a marvelous time playing with the animals.
  • (Cow moos)
  • Michael Brandon: Rusty was very happy. Later, Rusty delivered everyone safely back to the wharf.
  • Children: Goodbye, Rusty.
  • Michael Brandon: Called the children.
  • Children: You can go home now.
  • Rusty: Not yet.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Rusty.
  • Rusty: I've one more job to do.
  • Michael Brandon: Rusty hurried over to the workmen. Rusty told them about the signposts pointing in the wrong directions.
  • Rusty: It was all my fault for hurrying you.
  • Michael Brandon: He hooted.
  • Rusty: But I can take you back to put them right. And this time, I won't rush!
