Transcript

  • (We see the Britt Allcroft logo, then the Season 5 intro, and finally the start of Thomas Goes Fishing)
  • George Carlin: When Thomas puffed along his branch line, he always look forward to something special. The sight of the river. As they rumble over the bridge, he would see people fishing. Thomas often wanted to stay and watch, but his driver said...
  • Driver: No! What would Sir Topham Hatt say if we were late?
  • George Carlin: Every time he met another engine he say...
  • Thomas: I want to fish.
  • George Carlin: But they all had the same answer.
  • James: Engines don't go fishing.
  • Thomas: Silly stick in the muds.
  • George Carlin: Thought Thomas. One day, he stopped as usual to take him water at the station by the river. Out of order.
  • Thomas: Bother!
  • George Carlin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: I'm thirsty.
  • Driver: Never mind.
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: We'll get some water from the river.
  • George Carlin: They found a bucket and some rope and went to the bridge. Then the driver left the bucket down to the water. The bucket was old and have five holes, so they had to fill it, pull it up, and empty it into Thomas' tank as quickly as they could several times over. They finished at last.
  • Thomas: That's good, that's good.
  • George Carlin: Puffed Thomas and Annie and Clarabel ran happily behind. Suddenly, Thomas began to feel a pain in his boiler. Steam began to hiss with his safety valve in an alarming way.
  • Driver: There's too much steam!
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Thomas: Oh dear!
  • George Carlin: Groaned Thomas.
  • Thomas: I'm going to burst! I'm going to burst!
  • George Carlin: They damped down his fire and struggled on.
  • Thomas: I've got such a pain, I've got such a pain!
  • George Carlin: Thomas hissed. They stopped just outside the last station, uncoupled Annie and Clarabel and ran Thomas, who was still hissing fit to burst, on a siding right out of the way. Then, while the conductor telephoned for an engine inspector, the driver found notice in large letters, which he hung on Thomas in front and behind. Danger: Keep Away. Soon, the inspector and Sir Topham Hatt arrived.
  • Inspector: Cheer up, Thomas.
  • George Carlin: They said.
  • Inspector: We'll soon put you right.
  • George Carlin: The driver told them what had happened.
  • Inspector: So the feed pipe is blocked.
  • George Carlin: Said the inspector.
  • Inspector: I'll just look in the tanks.
  • George Carlin: He climbed up and peered in, then he came down.
  • Inspector: Excuse me, sir, please look in the tank and tell me what you see.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Certainly, inspector.
  • George Carlin: Replied Sir Topham Hatt. He clambered up, looked in and nearly fell off in surprise.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Inspector.
  • George Carlin: He whispered.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Can you see fish? Gracious goodness me! How did the fish get there, driver?
  • Driver: We must have fished them from the river with our bucket.
  • George Carlin: Replied Thomas' driver.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well, Thomas, so you and your driver had been fishing. But fish don't suit you. We must get them out.
  • George Carlin: They all took turns and fishing into Thomas' tank while Sir Topham Hatt looked down and told them how to do it. When they had caught all the fish, they had a lovely picnic supper of fish and chips.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Mmm. That was good.
  • George Carlin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: But fish don't suit you, Thomas, so you mustn't do it again.
  • Thomas: No, sir, I won't.
  • George Carlin: Said Thomas sadly.
  • Thomas: Engines don't go fishing. It's too uncomfortable.

  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • (Following the commercial breaks, James and The Red Balloon is the next to start)
  • Alec Baldwin: It is summer holiday time on the Island of Sodor. Vacationers come far and wide to enjoy the beauty of the island. It is the busiest time of the year for Sir Topham Hatt's engines. Thomas was excited. Sir Topham Hatt had sent him to pick up a special to deliver to Dryaw arfield.
  • Percy: Wht did you got there?
  • Alec Baldwin: Tooted Percy.
  • Thomas: A balloon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Replied Thomas.
  • Percy: A party balloon?
  • Alec Baldwin: Asked Percy excitedly.
  • Thomas: No.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: This is a very special balloon.
  • Alec Baldwin: And he chuffed away. Soon, Thomas arrived at the airfield and hot air was puffed into the balloon.
  • James: What is that?
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed James.
  • Thomas: A hot air balloon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: It would take vacationers on rides around the island.
  • James: Taking vacationers on rides around the island is our job.
  • Alec Baldwin: Wheeshed James jealously. Then, as if by magic, the hot air balloon rose silently up into the sky.
  • James: What if the hot air balloon takes our passengers away.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuffed James.
  • James: What would happen to us then.
  • Alec Baldwin: This made Thomas worried. Suddenly, he wasn't so excited about the balloon. The balloon can be seen by everyone on the Island of Sodor. Duck gazed at it for so long, he ran into the back of Stepney.
  • Donald: Why, 'tis a floating basket with folks in it...
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Donald.
  • Douglas: Whatever would they dream up next?
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Douglas. James and Thomas were waiting at the level crossing. They were still worried about the hot air balloon.
  • Thomas: If it takes our passengers away...
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuffed Thomas.
  • Thomas: They'll be no use for us engines.
  • James: Passengers should travel on trains.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed James.
  • James: Not in silly balloons.
  • Alec Baldwin: Then something big and round and red drifted straight towards them.
  • Voice: We're out of hot air!
  • Alec Baldwin: Shouted a voice.
  • James: Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried James.
  • James: What's happening!?
  • Alec Baldwin: Crash! Bang! Wallop! Went the balloon and landed right on top of James. He was so scared, he let out a huge burst of steam which blew the balloon up again. The balloon rose into the air once more.
  • James' Driver: Well done, James.
  • Alec Baldwin: Called his driver.
  • James' Driver: Your hot air did the trick.
  • Thomas: Oh no, James.
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Thomas.
  • Thomas: You saved the hot air balloon.
  • James: I didn't mean to.
  • Alec Baldwin: Groaned James.
  • James: Now we're sure to take our passengers.
  • Alec Baldwin: Wherever James went, he could see the balloon carrying vacationers across the island. He felt he should be taking those passengers.
  • James: Rails are better than hot air any day.
  • Alec Baldwin: James arrived back at the station. There were lots of people on the platform. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting too.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well done, James.
  • James: But now the passengers will ride in the hot air balloon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt laughed.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You're right, James.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: But they will need a ride home in a train.
  • Alec Baldwin: James was delighted. Sir Topham Hatt was right. The engines were busier than ever. Taking vacationers to and from the airfield. Whenever James sees the red balloon, he whistles and toots. And sometimes when he's asleep at night, James dreams he can fly too. Just like the red balloon.
  • (Down By The Docks is the next song to begin)
  • Children: (singing) Down by the docks, that's the place to be, Down by the docks, gateway to the sea, Down by the dockside, we are the team, Working together, just like family. Down by the docks, you're never on your own, Down by the docks, it's really home from home, Down by the dockside, down by the dockside. Down by the dockside, is where we want to be. Salty! Chief Diesel at the docks, He's the tough guy. He's the one who sorts the trucks. He's the one to see, in emergencies... He's the one to see. Tirelessly working, never complaining, Part of the dockside team... Cranky! Looking down on everyone, Always working. Lifting cargo by the ton. And he's up so high, he can reach the sky... Part of the dockside team. Whatever the weather, you'll see him out there, Part of the dockside team... Down by the docks, that's the place to be, Down by the docks, gateway to the sea, Down by the dockside, we are the team, Working together, just like family. Down by the docks, you're never on your own, Down by the docks, it's really home from home, Down by the dockside, down by the dockside. Down by the dockside, is where we want to be. Sailors! Who have crossed the seven seas, Sailing homeward. Bringing all and sundry. And the trade winds blow their ships back home... Safely to the shore. We are the workers, stoking the boilers Of Sodor's industry... Down by the dockside, down by the dockside Down by the dockside, is where we want to be.
  • (Once again, after the commercials, Rheneas and The Roller Coaster is the last story to start)
  • Michael Brandon: Rheneas is a brave little engine who enjoys working in the mountains on the Island of Sodor. Even though he is little, Rheneas loves feeling like a really useful engine. One day, Sir Topham Hatt came to see Rheneas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I have a very important job to do.
  • Michael Brandon: He boomed.
  • Rheneas: An important job!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Rheneas.
  • Rheneas: Oh, thank you sir.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You are to take some school children up into the mountains. You must make sure they have a wonderful time and are back in time for their lunch.
  • Rheneas: Yes, sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Rheneas. But he was worried. He wasn't sure he was good enough to make the trip special. When Rheneas arrived at the station, the children and the teacher were waiting on the platform.
  • Rheneas: How am I going to make the children's day really special?
  • Michael Brandon: He said to Rusty.
  • Rusty: You know the mountains better than any engine.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Rusty. But Rheneas wasn't sure his best will be exciting enough. He felt like a very little engine indeed. Sir Topham Hatt had told Rheneas' driver to point out all the beautiful sights along the way.
  • Rheneas' Driver: This is Sodor Castle.
  • Michael Brandon: Called his driver.
  • Rheneas' Driver: It is very special and important.
  • Michael Brandon: Rheneas saw the castle everyday. He didn't think it was special or important.
  • Rheneas: I must think of something exciting to do.
  • Michael Brandon: He thought to himself.
  • Rheneas' Driver: This is the valley view.
  • Michael Brandon: Said his driver.
  • Rheneas' Driver: And here's the viaduct.
  • Children: (gasp)
  • Michael Brandon: Rheneas was still unhappy. The trip didn't seem wonderful to him at all.
  • Rheneas: Must be special! Must be special.
  • Michael Brandon: He thought. Meanwhile, Rusty was working on the rocky ridge line. Heavy rains have washed the ground from under the road.
  • Foreman: These lines are too bumpy and uneven.
  • Michael Brandon: Said the foreman.
  • Foreman: The track must be closed for repairs.
  • Rheneas: Must be special. Must be special.
  • Michael Brandon: Rheneas was still trying to think of something that will make the children's trip special. He didn't know the linesmen have forgotten to switch the points. Suddenly, Rheneas was on the wrong track.
  • Rheneas: Oh no! This track is closed for repairs. Bust my buffers!
  • Michael Brandon: Chuffed Rheneas.
  • Rusty: Be careful!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Rusty.
  • Rusty: The tracks are very bumpy!
  • Michael Brandon: Rheneas wooshed down the mountain like a roller coaster. The children cheered. Rheneas puffed up the rocky ridge with all his might. His coach clattered and bumped and bounced along behind. And the children oooed and aaaed. Rheneas huffed and puffed as hard as he could. He steamed across the trestle bridge. He was going so fast the teacher nearly lost her hat. Rheneas splashed under a waterfall, the children laughed happily and the teacher covered her eyes. At last, they could see the station. Rheneas was very tired and worried. What will Sir Topham Hatt say.
  • Teacher: Phew!
  • Michael Brandon: Said the teacher.
  • Teacher: Just in time for lunch.
  • Children: It was the best school trip ever!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried the children. Sir Topham Hatt wasn't cross with Rheneas, he was happy too.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You gave the children a wonderful trip. You really are a very useful engine.
  • Rheneas: Oh, thank you sir!
  • Michael Brandon: Sighed Rheneas proudly. Rheneas didn't feel like a little engine anymore.
  • (Children cheer)
  • (Troublesome Trucks is the last song to happen)
  • Children: (singing) The engines always think they are so clever, And so they like to bump the trucks around, They bump them in the sidings, they bump the in the yards. They better beware, they better take care, They better be on their guards. Because those Troublesome Trucks will get the engines every time. Troublesome Trucks will run the engines off the line. They push them here, push them there till they go too fast. Then they push them once again laughing while they crash. Troublesome Trucks will get the engines every time. Troublesome Trucks will run the engines off the line. They don't care how big they are to them it's just a game, Those Troublesome Trucks will get them all the same. Diesel thinks he is so very smart, Bumping all the trucks around the yard. He gets them all in line, then bumps them one more time, Now, he thinks that he's in charge. The trucks decide to play another joke, And Diesel's plans will all go up in smoke. He pulls and he pulls until he breaks the chain. On, on, on! He's off the rails again! They don't care how big they are to them it's just a game. Those Troublesome Trucks will get them all the same. The engines all try hard to make this stand, Looking for a way to foil their plans. Nothing seems to work. It's just makes matters worse. Trucks are always on the hand. They find their time until they get their chance when noone is expecting it they pounce. They push and they push until it's all too late. On, on, on! The trucks have won again! They don't care how big they are to them it's just a game. Those Troublesome Trucks will get them all the same. They don't care how big they are to them it's just a game. Those Troublesome Trucks will get them all the same.
  • (Troublesome Trucks giggling)
  • (Following the last song, we find the end credits with Thomas looking at us)
  • (While they roll, the Thomas end theme plays)
  • (After that, the 2001 HiT Entertainment logo appears)
