BiggestThomasFan's Ranking (from Least Favorite to Favorite)

Least Favorite: Alec Baldwin

I'm kinda mixed about him. So I'll do two separate paragraphs about him. One for his Season 5 narrations and one for his Season 6 narrations.

In Season 5, I thought he did pretty good. Some of his characters were sounded good, like his Bill and Ben voices. But there were some voices that could have been better, like his Henry voice. He sounded more enthusiastic in this season than his next season. His narrations in this season weren't great, but I can still tolerate them.

In Season 6, however, he just put little to no enthusiasm. I didn't like that he didn't give Donald, Douglas and Duncan Scottish accents or that he didn't give Bill and Ben their high-pitch voices like in the last season. The only voice he did in this season that I kinda liked was his Salty voice. Since this was the season after "Thomas and the Magic Railroad", I think Baldwin was mad with how badly that movie did at the Box Office, so he just didn't care with how his narrations sounded.

Rating (Season 5): 7/10

Rating (Season 6): 2/10

6. Pierce Brosnan

He did somewhat sound a bit dull when narrating The Great Discovery; but to be fair, it was his first time narrating for the show. I'm a little disappointed that he didn't stay on as narrator for the series afterwards because I'm sure he would have improved if he had. I also thought some of his voices were good (like Duncan) and he did actually try to be enthusiastic when narrating. Overall, I don't think he was great, but I don't think he was terrible either.

Rating: 6.5/10

5. Michael Angelis

I didn't grew up with him, but I did hear him narrate the episodes on the New Friends for Thomas US video, and his UK narrations on the internet. I thought he sounded good in the early seasons, but in the new seasons, he started to sound more and more bland to me. I also liked his Sir Topham Hatt voice.

Rating: 7.5/10

4. Michael Brandon

I really don't know why so many people hated him so much. I personally thought he did a good job as narrator. Sure, some of his character voices weren't good, but he did sound as though he was trying when narrating (unlike Baldwin in S6). I also respect him for being the longest running narrator for the US. And I liked his Diesel voice in the US dub of Seasons 13-16 a lot better than Diesel's UK voice. All in all, Michael Brandon is quite underrated if you ask me.

Rating: 8/10

3. Mark Moraghan

He's only been narrator for two years now, but he's been doing such a fantastic job narrating. I'm actually glad they got someone new to narrate the show for the new era since the two Michaels were getting a bit dull by that point. And because the narrator's job has been cut down a bit, he doesn't speak as much as the past two did and his voice can be appreciated more when it's heard. I look forward to hearing more from him in the future.

Rating: 9/10

2. Ringo Starr

Ringo has always been a favorite narrator of mine. He was one of the first narrators I heard when I started watch Thomas. He was a great Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station and he did do a pretty good job narrating Seasons 1 and 2, as well as the Ladybird audio cassettes. Also, his Diesel growling in Pop Goes the Diesel was hilarious. He may not have sounded very enthusiastic, but he is one of the most nostalgia narrators to me.

Rating: 9.5/10

Favorite: George Carlin

He was definitely the most nostalgia narrator of all to me. He was great narrating Seasons 1-4 and he was also a great Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station. He actually tried to be enthusiastic when narrating and he did a lot of great character voices. He just knew how to tell the story for television. I was very sad to hear that he past away in 2008.

Rest in Peace George Carlin. You will always be my favorite narrator in the whole show, especially since you narrated my top 4 favorite seasons.

SuperMalechi's Ranking (from Least Favorite to Favorite)

Least Favorite: Michael Brandon

I'm kinda mixed about him. So I'll do two separate paragraphs about him. One for his Season 5 narrations and one for his Season 6 narrations.

In Season 6-7, I thought he did pretty good. Some of his characters were sounded good, like his Bill and Ben voices. But there were some voices that could have been better, like his Henry voice. He sounded more enthusiastic in this season than his next season. His narrations in this season weren't great, but I can still tolerate them.

In Season 8-16 (worst seasons ever), however, he just put little to no effort like Alec Baldwin does more. I didn't like that he didn't give most new characters different voices. The only voice he did in those seasons that I kinda liked was his Mighty-Mac voice.

Rating (Season 6-7): 7/10

Rating (Season 8-16): 2/10

6. Pierce Brosnan

He was orginally my least favorite of all, but looking back, he actually did do a pretty good job narrating for "The Great Discovery".

Rating (Season 6-7): 7.10

5. Alec Baldwin

He did somewhat sound a bit dull when narrating Season 6, but he did good in Season 5. I think he should of been a voice actor for some characters for Season 5-12 in the US version.

Rating (Season 5): 7/10

Rating (Season 6): 4/10

4. George Carlin

I think he does the best job in Season 4, but he sounds okay in Season 3, and I hated when he redid all Season 1-2 episodes. I'm sad test he died.

Rating (Season 1-2): 0/10

Rating (Season 3-4): 7.9/10

3. Michael Angelis

I think Angelis was good, but just not the best of all. He did do a pretty good job narrating Seasons 3-7.. He may not have sounded as good in Season 8-16, but he is one of the most nostalgia narrators to me.

Rating (Season 3-7): 7/10

Rating (Season 8-16): 3/10

2. Mark Moraghan

He's only been narrator for two years now, but he's been doing such a fantastic job narrating. I'm actually glad they got someone new to narrate the show for the new era since the Michaels were getting a bit dull by that point. I would like to hear him try to voice a few characters, but who knows? Maybe in future he'll get that chance. Overall, Mark has been a great narrator and I hope he can stay on the show for the next couple of years.

Rating: 9/10

Favorite: Ringo Starr

He was definitely the most nostalgia narrator of all to me. He was great narrating Seasons 1-2 in Uk/US and he was also a great Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station. He should of narrated the rest of Season 1-2 in US audiences, do Mr. Conductor for the rest of Shining Time Station and do his Beatles career at the same time. And he did a Scottish accent for Donald and Douglas, and a nice voice for Diesel. He is part of the Beatles.

ElsbridgeStationFan1995's Least Favourite to Favourite Narrators

Least Favourite: Alec Baldwin

This guy is one I cannot stand in the slightest. He sounded boring throughout his entire stint.

Rating: 1/10

9: Pierce Brosnan

He is only a little better than Baldwin but not by far. He sounded far too quiet and boring for my liking

Rating: 2.5/10

8: Michael Brandon

He is underrated in my opinion. Sure he had a few terrible voices, but at least he put in effort unlike Baldwin.

Rating: 5/10

7: Ted Robbins

He is my least favourite RWS narrator. Most of the time he sounded like a fan narration, but I can listen to him narrating RWS stories who's adaptions I hate or despise.

Rating: 5.5/10

6: George Carlin:

He is one of the most overrated narrators in my opinion. His Toad voice sucks as well as most of his seasons 1-2 narrations. But other than that he was okay.

Rating: 7.5/10

5: Michael Angelis

Michael Angelis was boring during the hit era but before that he was just as great as ever.

Rating: 8/10

4: Johnny Morris

I love Johnny Morris' narrations of the first 11 books of the RWS. He did great Gordon, James, Trevor, Sir Handel and Percy voices, but his Henry voice could have been better.

Rating: 8.5/10

2: Mark Moraghan

He's only been narrator for two years now, but he's been doing such a fantastic job narrating. I'm actually glad they got someone new to narrate the show for the new era since the Michaels were getting a bit dull by that point. I would like to hear him try to voice a few characters, but who knows? Maybe in future he'll get that chance. Overall, Mark has been a great narrator and I hope he can stay on the show for the next couple of years.

Rating: 9.5/10

3: Ringo Starr

Ringo is the other overrated narrator in my opinion. While it is true I prefer him over Carlin for seasons 1-2, he didn't do many different character voices but I like his Gordon, Donald, Douglas and Diesel voices.

Rating: 9.5/10

Top Favourite: Willie Rushton

To me he's the greatest narrator to date. He is great with the delivery of the comedy in the RWS and his voices are top form. It's sad that he died in December 1996. RIP Mr Rushton, your truly the best.
