  • Alec Baldwin: Gordon is a very proud steam engine. He's the fastest engine on the Island of Sodor. He loves speeding along his line with the wind blowing across his funnel.
  • Gordon's Driver: You've broken the record again.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver.
  • Gordon: I'm the fastest!
  • Alec Baldwin: Boasted Gordon. But not all the engines were impressed.
  • James: Speed isn't everything.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said James smugly.
  • Thomas: But being reliable and useful is.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Gordon: You slow engines will never understand.
  • Alec Baldwin: Snorted Gordon.
  • Gordon: Because you'll never go as fast as me.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt arrived with news of a special for Thomas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want you to collect the jet engine and take it to the airfield.
  • Percy: What's a jet engine?
  • Alec Baldwin: Asked Percy?
  • Sir Topham Hatt: A jet engine goes forward by pushing hot air out of its back.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt explained.
  • Thomas: Just like you blow up a balloon and let it go.
  • Alec Baldwin: Added Thomas.
  • Thomas: It's very fast.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas likes making special deliveries for Sir Topham Hatt. It makes him feel special. But secretly, he wished he could go as fast as Gordon, just once. Thomas arrived at the docks, excited to see the jet engine. It was shiny and modern and Thomas had never seen anything like it. He couldn't wait to start his journey, but Cranky was taking his time.
  • Thomas: Hurry up!
  • Alec Baldwin: Puffed Thomas.
  • Thomas: This is a special special.
  • Alec Baldwin: Cranky did not like being told what to do especially by an engine. He became so cranky, that he was careless with his hook. His hook knocked the switch and the switch started the jet engine and the engine began to wind. The wind got louder and louder and louder.
  • Cranky: Uh, oh.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Cranky. Before he could say anything else, the jet engine was rocketing Thomas up the track.
  • Thomas: Whoa!
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas. The driver tried to put on the brakes, but Thomas couldn't stop.
  • Thomas: Whoa boy!
  • Alec Baldwin: The stationmaster called ahead.
  • Signalman: Clear the lines, it's a runaway train!
  • Alec Baldwin: Signals were changed and points were switched. Thomas had never been so exciting. Thomas flew by James and rocketed past Henry and raced by Percy. They were amazed. Bertie was excited when he saw Thomas flying down the track.
  • Bertie: Want a race, Thomas?
  • Alec Baldwin: Beeped Bertie.
  • Bertie: Ah, never mind.
  • Alec Baldwin: No one had ever seen an engine go so fast. Gordon had no idea that Thomas racing along the main line.
  • Gordon: I am the fastest.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Gordon proudly.
  • Thomas: Hi, Gordon. Bye Gordon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Gordon could not believe what he had seen. At last, the jet engine ran out of fuel and Thomas was back under his own power. He steamed gently back into Knapford Station.
  • Thomas: Sorry for overtaking you back there, Gordon.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Thomas.
  • Gordon: Overtake me? I didn't notice.
  • Alec Baldwin: Gordon huffed.
  • Henry: You didn't notice the fastest engine on the Island of Sodor?
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Henry.
  • Thomas: Yes, I am the fastest.
  • Alec Baldwin: Puffed Thomas. Percy felt a little sorry for Gordon.
  • Percy: Gordon doesn't have to go as fast as a jet engine. He's a steam engine.
  • James: But he's still full of hot air.
  • Alec Baldwin: Whistled James and Gordon wheeshed away.
  • (A nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Percy and The Haunted Mine)
  • Alec Baldwin: In the summertime, the branch line stationmasters enjoy a friendly competition for the most beautiful station on the Island of Sodor. The engines love to help too. One evening Sir Topham Hatt came to the sheds.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want Percy to collect some flower bushes from Lower Tidmouth Station.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: They're at Maithwaithe.
  • Percy: Maithwaithe?
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy said.
  • Percy: Y-y-yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: He added nervously. Percy chuffed anxiously through the thickening fog. He doesn't like travelling to Maithwaithe at night. The line passes through a junction next to a spooky old quarry mine. Percy hoped the signal at the junction would be green. He didn't want to stop next to the mine. But the signal was red. He had to stop. Suddenly he saw something.
  • Percy: Bouncing buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy. His driver hadn't seen the old chimney sink into the ground. The signal changed. Percy was so scared, he steamed away as fast as he could. The next day, Percy was telling Donald and Douglas about the disappearing chimney.
  • Donald: It's the naughty gnomes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Donald.
  • Douglas: We fat men with big feet. They make strange things happen.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Douglas.
  • Douglas: It's legend. They steal your wheels and filch your funnels.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy didn't want to believe them, but he wasn't sure. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting for Percy at Dryaw Station.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want you to collect some freight cars from the abandoned mine.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Percy: Y-y-yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy answered. But he really didn't want to go there again. Percy hoped he wouldn't see anything else disappear. He slipped into the sidings and buffered up to the freight cars.
  • Percy: Spooky.
  • Alec Baldwin: Stammered Percy. Suddenly, another building at the old mine sank into the ground.
  • Percy's Driver: What was that?!
  • Alec Baldwin: Shouted his driver.
  • Percy: Double bouncing buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Shrieked Percy. He was so scared, he lurched forward and rammed the freight car.
  • Percy: Naughty gnomes!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy. He steamed away faster than before, all the way back to Lower Tidmouth Station. Percy's driver told Sir Topham Hatt what they had seen.
  • Percy: It's the naughty gnomes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy.
  • Percy: They like to cause trouble. It's legend.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Nonsense.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: The old buildings are collapsing at empty mine shafts. That's all.
  • Percy: But I saw the gnomes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Protested Percy.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Of course you did.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Garden gnomes.
  • Percy: Garden gnomes?
  • Sir Topham Hatt: To decorate Lower Tidmouth Station.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: They're not scary. Garden gnomes bring good luck.
  • Alec Baldwin: And he ordered Percy to return immediately and get them. Percy was scared, but he knew he had to be responsible. So he carried on.
  • Percy: I'm not scared, I'm not scared.
  • Alec Baldwin: He waited for something else spooky to happen. But it didn't and Sir Topham Hatt was right. The garden gnomes weren't scary at all. His driver and fireman had collected the gnomes and Percy took them straight back to Lower Tidmouth Station. Later that week, the stationmanster thanked Percy.
  • Stationmanster: We wouldn't have won our competition without your garden gnomes, Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy was very proud.
  • Percy: You were right, sir, naughty gnomes can be lucky after all.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Scaredy Engines)
  • Alec Baldwin: The engines on the Island of Sodor look forward to Halloween. They love Sir Topham Hatt's fireworks and the children dressing up as wizards and witches. They also loved Edward's spooky stories.
  • Edward: They say that on Halloween, the ghost engine returns to the smelters looking for his lost whistle: Whoo, whoo!
  • Engines: Ooh, aah, spooky!
  • Alec Baldwin: The engines said all shivering a little. Later, Sir Topham Hatt arrived.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas, Percy and Duck, I have a special job for you. You are to collect some scrap from the smelters yard tonight.
  • Percy: On Halloween!?
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Don't worry. You'll be back in time for the fireworks.
  • Thomas: Percy isn't worried about missing the fireworks.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Thomas.
  • Thomas: He's a scaredy engine.
  • Percy: I am not!
  • Alec Baldwin: Called Percy. But he was, a little. At the smelters, all Percy could think about was Edward's ghost engine. Thomas knew Percy was scared. So he teased him even more.
  • Thomas: What's that up there?
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas squeaked.
  • Thomas: Is it a spook?
  • Percy: It's just a piece of twisted scrap.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy said nervously.
  • Percy: Isn't it?
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas was having fun. He kept on teasing Percy.
  • Thomas: Careful, the ghost engine doesn't get you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas said.
  • Percy: There's no such thing as ghosts!
  • Alec Baldwin: Snapped Percy. Duck felt sorry for Percy
  • Duck: Nobody's brave all the time.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Duck.
  • Percy: But i'm not a scaredy engine.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy insisted. The job was nearly complete.
  • Yard Manager: Well done.
  • Alec Baldwin: The yard manager said.
  • Yard Manager: Now I'll need one engine to finish up.
  • Alec Baldwin: Duck wanted to pay Thomas back for all his teasing.
  • Duck: Please sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Duck: I'm sure Thomas wouldn't mind stay.
  • Thomas: Of course not.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas boasted.
  • Thomas: I'm not a scaredy engine.
  • Alec Baldwin: So Duck and Percy left. When Thomas was by himself, every sound and every shadow was spooky. He was beginning to feel very scared.
  • Thomas: There's no such thing as ghosts.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said nervously.
  • Thomas: Who's there?
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas was so busy looking for ghosts, he didn't watch where he was going. The chains felt like ghost fingers.
  • Thomas: Something's got me.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas wheeshed and set off an old steam whistle.
  • (Old whistle blows)
  • Thomas: The g-g-ghost whistle.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas and he raced away as fast as his wheels could carry him.
  • Thomas: (echoing) The ghost engine is after me!
  • Duck: It was naughty of Thomas to tease you, Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Duck.
  • Percy: He was only playing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Percy.
  • Percy: I hope he hurries up. I wouldn't want him to be late for the fireworks.
  • Thomas: He's after meeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
  • Duck: I don't think he'll be late.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Duck. Duck and Percy joined the other engines for the fireworks.
  • Percy: Where's Thomas?
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy asked.
  • Percy: He'll miss all the fun.
  • Duck: It would serve him right after all his teasing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Duck said. But Percy was worried. He went to look for his friend. He found Thomas all alone in the shed.
  • Percy: Are you all right, Thomas?
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Thomas: Yes. I'm sorry I teased you, Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas said.
  • Thomas: Duck was right. We all feel scared sometimes.
  • Percy: And we all have to say sorry sometimes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his friend.
  • Percy: So come on, Thomas, we can watch the fireworks just as well from here.
  • Alec Baldwin: And he was right.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Harold and The Flying Horse)
  • Michael Brandon: Harold the Helicopter is glad not to be a steam engine. He is much happier flying in the sky than racing along on road or rails. One sunny morning, the engines were busy preparing for the Vicar's annual garden party.
  • Harold: I like to help.
  • Michael Brandon: Called Harold.
  • Harold: But I'm on patrol.
  • Michael Brandon: He was looking for engines that might be in trouble. Meanwhile, the engines puffed to and fro with their loads to the party. Percy was delivering deck chairs and decorations, tables and tea earns and reminders.
  • Percy: Don't forget to come to the Vicar's party.
  • Harold: Thanks for the invitation.
  • Michael Brandon: Called Harold.
  • Harold: But duty calls.
  • Michael Brandon: And he whirred away. Harold was landing at his airfield to get more fuel when he saw Pegasus the cart horse that lives close by. Pegasus was ready to give rides to children. He had a shiny leather hornest and a freshly painted cart. Harold was beginning to feel left out of the celebrations. He wished more than ever that he could help. Thomas puffed in with some passengers.
  • Harold: Where are you going next?
  • Michael Brandon: Buzzed Harold.
  • Thomas: To the Vicar's party of course. Everyone's going.
  • Harold: Everyone except me.
  • Michael Brandon: Replied Harold.
  • Harold: I'm on duty.
  • Thomas: Yes indeed.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Thomas kindly.
  • Thomas: Being a rescue helicopter is important work.
  • Harold: But no one needs rescuing.
  • Michael Brandon: Sighed Harold. Then came the surprise. Harold's pilot recieved an urgent call from Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Pegasus is stuck in a ditch. If he doesn't get to the Vicar's party, the children will be disappointed. You must rescue him at once.
  • Harold: All set and ready for action.
  • Michael Brandon: Reported Harold.
  • Percy: Pegasus?
  • Michael Brandon: Wondered Percy.
  • Percy: That's a funny name for a horse.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: It's the name of a flying horse in a very old story.
  • Michael Brandon: Explained Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Percy: Flying horse!?
  • Michael Brandon: Exclaimed Percy.
  • Percy: Horses can't fly.
  • Michael Brandon: He felt very clever. Harold flew to the rescue as fast as he could.
  • Harold: What happened?
  • Michael Brandon: He asked Thomas.
  • Thomas: We were loading the cart. Pegasus wondered off into the ditch. Silly Horse, now he's stuck. If you can take him, I can take the cart.
  • Harold: I'll put Pegasus in my sling.
  • Thomas: We need to hurry.
  • Michael Brandon: Whistled Thomas.
  • Thomas: The party is about to begin.
  • Michael Brandon: And he steamed away. Soon, Harold's pilot had fitted Harold's sling under Pegasus. Then, Harold lifted him gently into the air and carefully carried him across the fields. When Percy saw Pegasus flying through the sky he was amazed.
  • Percy: Well flatten my funnel, so horses can fly after all.
  • Michael Brandon: The children cheered for Harold. He had saved the day. Soon, Pegasus was hitched up to the cart. The party was a big sucess and the children had a wonderful time. Harold was happy. He'd stayed on duty and had fun at the party too.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Bulgy Rides Again)
  • Michael Brandon: In the summertime there is no better place to be than the Island of Sodor. The engines are happy to show vacationers the wonderful sights to be seen. But this year, there was a problem. Thomas and Emily were in the foundry for repairs.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I need to find a way to carry more passengers.
  • Michael Brandon: Grumbled Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: We have more vacationers.
  • Emily: And fewer engines.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Emily.
  • Thomas: A double decker problem.
  • Michael Brandon: Added Thomas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: A double decker problem? Hmm.
  • Michael Brandon: This gave Sir Topham Hatt an idea. He drove straight to Bulgy's field. Bulgy is a double decker bus. He was turned into a hen house after he caused the silly accident.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Good news, Bulgy, i'm putting you back on the road.
  • Bulgy: Thank you, sir. I'll be the best bus ever.
  • Michael Brandon: Bulgy never liked being a hen house anyway. The next day, he went to the foundry.
  • Thomas: Bulgy!
  • Michael Brandon: Exclaimed Thomas.
  • Thomas: What are you doing here?
  • Bulgy: I'm being repaired, I'm going back on the road.
  • Emily: I think you'll be helping the new farmer.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Emily.
  • Emily: He needs to deliver his vegetables around the island.
  • Bulgy: Vegetables!? Hmph! I'm going to carry passengers!
  • Michael Brandon: Soon, Bulgy was refitted inside and out. He looked smart and shiny. Even James was impressed.
  • James: Ooooo.
  • Michael Brandon: When Bulgy returned to his field, the hens thought their old house looked splendid.
  • Bulgy's Driver: We'll start in the morning.
  • Michael Brandon: Said his driver.
  • Bulgy's Driver: You'll stay here tonight.
  • Michael Brandon: Bulgy was soon fast asleep. But the hens missed their old home. One by one, they crept aboard and went to sleep in the luggage racks. Bulgy knew nothing. The next morning Bulgy picked up lots of passengers.
  • Bulgy: All aboard.
  • Michael Brandon: He tooted and set off for the station. He was driving so smoothly that the hens didn't wake up. All was well until Bulgy turned a corner. Trevor was pulling a hay-cart.
  • Bulgy: Get out of my way!
  • Michael Brandon: He overtook Trevor. Bulgy swerved, the hens woke up, the passengers panicked and Bulgy's driver lost control. The hens were frightened. They flapped, they squawked.
  • Bulgy's Passengers: Stop!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Bulgy's passengers.
  • Bulgy's Passengers: We want to get off!
  • Michael Brandon: The passengers were covered in feathers and broken eggs. They were very cross.
  • Bulgy's Passengers: This bus is full of hens!
  • Michael Brandon: They complained.
  • Bulgy's Passengers: We shall tell Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Bulgy: It's not my fault.
  • Michael Brandon: Sulked Bulgy. Sir Topham Hatt sent Bulgy to be cleaned.
  • Bulgy: Silly hens, silly passengers, you can have them both.
  • Emily: The farmer still needs help with his vegetables.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Emily.
  • Bulgy: A vegetable bus? Hmmm, hey that's not such a bad idea.
  • Thomas: And we're back carrying passengers.
  • Michael Brandon: Smiled Thomas. Bulgy is happy now. He has new green paintwork and a smart serving hatch. Sir Topham Hatt agreed he could become the island's only vegetable stand on wheels. Bulgy likes carrying vegetables. They don't lay eggs and they never complained.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Salty's Stormy Tale)
  • Michael Brandon: The engines love working when the sun shines. One day, Thomas and Percy were helping Salty at the docks. But Salty was worried.
  • Salty: Arrgh, it may be sunny now, matey, but they're be a storm coming.
  • Thomas: It may be sunny now, matey, but they're be a storm coming.
  • Percy: There be a fierce storm on the way, captain!
  • Michael Brandon: Peeped Percy. Salty knew they were making fun of him. He felt sad. Later, Sir Topham Hatt arrived.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want you to fetch Fergus from the smelter's yard.
  • Michael Brandon: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: His driver doesn't know the line.
  • Salty: Aye-aye, Sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Replied Salty sadly. Salty was glad that he was going to the smelters. He didn't want to stay where he doesn't like.
  • Emily: What's wrong?
  • Michael Brandon: Asked Emily.
  • Salty: Ah, nobody likes to be made fun of by silly tank engines.
  • Michael Brandon: And he huffed away. Emily knew she had to find Thomas and Percy immediately.
  • Thomas: Those be dark clouds, matey.
  • Michael Brandon: Whistled Thomas.
  • Percy: There be a fierce storm on the way, captain!
  • Michael Brandon: Peeped Percy. Emily was cross.
  • Emily: It's not nice to copy the way others speak. You hurt Salty's feelings.
  • Percy: We were just having fun.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Percy.
  • Thomas: We'll say sorry to him.
  • Michael Brandon: Added Thomas. But Salty was nowhere to be found. Thomas and Percy was worried. Fergus was waiting for Salty when he arrived at the smelters.
  • Fergus: Right on time!
  • Michael Brandon: Congratulated Fergus.
  • Salty: Aye, but there be a storm coming.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Salty.
  • Salty: We must hurry.
  • Michael Brandon: Soon they were hooked up and on their way home. Salty was right about the storm. It was a fierce one. The ships at sea depend upon the lighthouse to keep them safely off the rocks. But now there was trouble.
  • Captain: The lighthouse lamp has gone out!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried the captain. Salty and Fergus were fighting their way through the wind and rain. Then Salty saw a lantern ahead. The lighthouse keeper was waiting for him.
  • Lighthouse Keeper: Our lighthouse lamp has gone out! Our generator is broken!
  • Michael Brandon: Then Salty had an idea.
  • Salty: Fergus has a flywheel. It could power the generator.
  • Lighthouse Keeper: Hurry!
  • Michael Brandon: Shouted the lighthouse keeper. Fergus' flywheel was attached to the generator shift. Without the lighthouse, the ship was steaming towards the rocks. Fergus was working as fast as he could. Finally, the generator came back to life. The lighthouse beam shone across the stormy sea once more.
  • Captain: Just in time! Hard to starboard, matey!
  • Michael Brandon: Salty's idea had saved the day! Fergus worked hard until first light. The next morning, Salty and Fergus chugged back to the docks. They were surprised to see a crowd waiting for them.
  • Captain: Thank you.
  • Michael Brandon: Said the captain.
  • Captain: You saved our ship.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well done.
  • Michael Brandon: Boomed Sir Topham Hatt. Salty was very proud.
  • Thomas: We're sorry if we hurt your feelings.
  • Michael Brandon: Puffed Thomas.
  • Percy: We were only copying you because we think you're grand.
  • Salty: Then say no more, me harties!
  • Michael Brandon: Replied Salty happily. Now they will all work together and have fun together as good friends should.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Boo Boo Choo Choo)
  • Children: Boo!
  • (Owl hoots)
  • Boy: What's that moving in the corner?
  • Girl: What's that shadow on the wall?
  • Children: (singing) Don't be afraid, don't be scared. It really is nothing at all.
  • Boy: But I saw something in the corner.
  • Girl: I saw that shadow on the wall.
  • Children: (singing) It's just your imagination.
  • Girl: Look! It's just the wise old owl. (whooo)
  • Children: (singing) Boo boo, choo choo Don't be afraid of the dark It's easily explained you see Why things go bump in the night - Boo! The little engine wondered He thought and thought all night Really nothing's changed, it's just the same Just daylight turned to night.
  • Girl: But something moved in the corner. A shadow crossed the wall.
  • Children: (singing) He closed his eyes, counted ten.
  • Girl: And remembered the wise old owl. (whooo)
  • Children: (singing) Boo, boo, choo choo Don't be afraid of the dark When the lights go out and you have your doubts Why things go bump in the night - Boo! Boo boo, choo choo Don't wander from your mark And don't be afraid, don't be afraid, don't be Don't be afraid of the dark.
  • (Whistling)
  • (Owl hoots)
  • Children: (singing) So, don't be afraid, don't be afraid, don't be Don't be afraid of the dark. Boo boo, choo choo Don't be afraid of the dark It's easily explained you see Why things go bump in the night - Boo! Boo boo, choo choo Don't wander from your track And don't be afraid, don't be afraid, don't be Don't be afraid of the dark.
