Transcript

• (We see the Britt Allcroft logo, then the Season 5 intro, and finally the start of Thomas and The Missing Christmas Tree)
• George Carlin: It was two days before Christmas. Many children were expected on the Island of Sodor. All the engines were busy with the final preparations. Sir Topham Hatt wanted this year's carol party to be an extra special celebration. Sir Topham Hatt was now waiting impatiently for Thomas.
• Sir Topham Hatt: Quickly now.
• George Carlin: He said.
• Sir Topham Hatt: Our Christmas tree has arrived just in time. I want you to fetch it, Thomas. Duck can look after Annie and Clarabel until you get back.
• Thomas: Will we be able to sing carols too?
• George Carlin: Asked Thomas.
• Sir Topham Hatt: We'll see.
• George Carlin: Promised Sir Topham Hatt.
• Thomas: It would be nice to sing carols again.
• George Carlin: Sighed Thomas as he set off on his important mission. Thomas collected the tree safely but large snowdrifts lay ahead.
• Thomas: I mustn't be late.
• George Carlin: He thought.
• Thomas: Sir Topham Hatt is relying on me.
• George Carlin: Whistling bravely, Thomas tried to move. But he couldn't. There was worse to come. Thomas was snowed under. Meanwhile the other engines waited and waited. They were grumbling about Thomas for being late.
• Sir Topham Hatt: Silence!
• George Carlin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
• Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas left the works safely, but snow had brought the telephone lines down. We must assume he is stranded.
• George Carlin: The engines now felt sorry for Thomas and cold but confident the twins set off to the rescue. Suddenly, they came to a drift that was deeper than the rest.
• Thomas: Help!
• Donald: Hush!
• George Carlin: Said Donald.
• Donald: I can hear something.
• Douglas: Probably the wind.
• George Carlin: Said Douglas.
• Thomas: Help!
• Donald: No listen.
• George Carlin: Insisted Donald.
• Thomas: Over here!
• Douglas: Oh, it's Thomas. Come on the poor wee engine must be frozen to the frames in there.
• George Carlin: When the workmen arrived, it took some time to decide how to dig away the drifts of snow. Thomas' driver and fireman, who had taken shelter at a nearby cottage, joined the rescue. At last, Thomas and the precious christmas tree were free from the snowdrift. Then they set off once more to finish their long journey. Sir Topham Hatt greeted them warmly.
• Sir Topham Hatt: As a reward for all your hard work, you may go and enjoy the carols. Be quick now.
• George Carlin: At the big station, all was soon ready.
• Sir Topham Hatt: One, two, three!
• George Carlin: Suddenly like magic the station was flooded with lights.
• Sir Topham Hatt: Ladies and gentlemen and children, i give you three cheers for Thomas the Tank Engine and all his friends who had made this ocasion possible.
• George Carlin: Then there was a familiar whirring sound. Percy and Toby smiled, they knew who it was. With landing lights shining brightly, Harold the Helicopter touched down gently in the snow. Bringing the greatest surprise of all, Santa Claus. Everyone cheered and the party began.
• Thomas: It's no fun getting stuck in the snow.
• George Carlin: Whispered Thomas to Percy.
• Thomas: But it was worth it for this party. Happy holidays, Percy. Happy holidays, everyone.
• (Winter Wonderland then starts after the story)
• Children: This is the story of Thomas' winter wonderland.
• Girl: (singing) It's a winter wonderland See the snow lay all around.
• Children: (singing) Bells are ringing; Ding-a-ling-a-ling, Ding, dong Sleigh bells jingle Home for the holiday we go Rushing to our winter wonderland It's a winter wonderland Little engine working hard. His snowplow heaving; Chug-a-chug-a-chug, Chug Choo.
• Girl: Bother this silly snow!
• Children: (singing) Don't haul be up, please don't delay Must get to my winter wonderland It's Thomas' winter wonderland Climb aboard and join us if you can See main line engines rushing to and fro Festive decorations, people rushing home Branch line engines shovel through the snow Firesides glaze through winter haze Happy holidays.
• Girl: Look, everybody! Here's Thomas. And Percy. And James and Gordon and Henry.
• Children: And look! Edward and Toby, too. • (Following the commercial breaks, Rusty Saves The Day is the next to start)
• Alec Baldwin: Rusty is a little diesel engine who works at the quarry on the Island of Sodor. Rusty's best friends are Rheneas and Skarloey. Rusty helps keep their line clear. Sometimes, Rusty worked so hard clearing their line that the little diesel forgets there's also work to be done at the quarry. One day, Rusty returned late to the quarry. Sir Topham Hatt was cross.
• Rusty's Driver: Sorry, sir.
• Alec Baldwin: Rusty's driver said.
• Rusty's Driver: We were helping Rheneas and Skarloey.
• Sir Topham Hatt: I know you like helping Rheneas and Skarloey. But their line is in bad condition. It takes too much of your time.
• Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
• Sir Topham Hatt: I am going to shut it down.
• Alec Baldwin: Rusty was upset.
• Rusty: But what will Rheneas and Skarloey do?
• Alec Baldwin: Rusty asked.
• Sir Topham Hatt: They will come and work with you here at the quarry.
• Alec Baldwin: He had made up his mind. There was nothing Rusty could do. Their line was closed down. Rheneas and Skarloey came to work at the quarry. They worked as hard as they could but they missed the forests and hills. Most of all they missed their passengers. Rusty could see they were not happy. Sir Topham Hatt came to the quarry with important news.
• Sir Topham Hatt: We are going to be blasting for the next two weeks.
• Alec Baldwin: He said.
• Sir Topham Hatt: It wont be safe for you here. I'll have to find you other work.
• Rusty: Please sir.
• Alec Baldwin: Rusty said.
• Rusty: It would use the next two weeks to repair Rheneas and Skarloey's line. Then they can go back to their old jobs.
• Rusty's Driver: There are plenty of line workers available.
• Alec Baldwin: Rusty's driver added. Sir Topham Hatt agreed.
• Sir Topham Hatt: But you have only two weeks to complete the job.
• Alec Baldwin: He said sternly. Rheneas and Skarloey's line was covered in rocks and branches and the tracks were broken in several places. Elizabeth the Quarry Truck thought cleaning up the line was ridiculous.
• Elizabeth: What a waste of time.
• Alec Baldwin: She sniffed. Skarloey was upset.
• Skarloey: She's right.
• Alec Baldwin: He said.
• Skarloey: We'll never get it done in two weeks.
• Rusty: We can't give up.
• Alec Baldwin: Said Rusty. The engines worked harder than ever, but time was running out. The next day, Rusty had a clever idea.
• Rusty: If only we had a truck to help us.
• Alec Baldwin: Rusty sighed. Elizabeth stopped
• Elizabeth: But i couldn't possibly help you. I'm a quarry truck.
• Rusty: Well we do need a special kind of truck.
• Alec Baldwin: Rusty teased.
• Elizabeth: I am a special kind of truck.
• Alec Baldwin: Protested Elizabeth.
• Rusty: It requires hauling
• Alec Baldwin: Said Rusty.
• Elizabeth: I can haul.
• Alec Baldwin: Said Elizabeth.
• Rusty: And pulling heavy branches.
• Alec Baldwin: Added Rusty.
• Elizabeth: Well of course i can pull.
• Rusty: So you'll do it.
• Alec Baldwin: Said Rusty.
• Elizabeth: Well of course.
• Alec Baldwin: Said Elizabeth proudly. Elizabeth was as good as her work. She hauled rubbish and pulled branches from the line. She helped remove a fallen stickable tree from the cattle creep.
• Rusty: Thank you, Elizabeth.
• Alec Baldwin: Said Rusty.
• Rusty: We could've done without you.
• Elizabeth: I know.
• Alec Baldwin: Said Elizabeth proudly. Sir Topham Hatt inspected the line. He was very impressed.
• Sir Topham Hatt: Well done Rusty.
• Alec Baldwin: He said.
• Sir Topham Hatt: And well done Elizabeth. We will open this line inmediately.
• Alec Baldwin: Rusty was proud. Rheneas and Skarloey were very happy.
• Sir Topham Hatt: Maybe now Rusty will had time to work at the quarry.
• Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt and Rusty just smiled.
• (Thomas' Anthem is the next song to begin)
• Children: (singing) It's Thomas the Tank Engine. Hip, hip, hip, hip, hooray! Chugga-chugga, chugg, chugg Chuff, chuff, chuff. He rides along the way. And when you hear that whistle, It can only be one train. Our favourite little engine, Thomas is his name! Thomas the Tank Engine rolling along, (whistling) All of his friends will be coming along. Thomas, we love you. He's a really useful engine With his heart that's big and strong. He chugga-chugga, chuff-chuffs working hard Helping everyone. Thomas, he has lots of friends And you can be one too. Just clap, clap, clap and sing-along Thomas, we love you. Thomas the Tank Engine rolling along, (whistling) All of his friends will be coming along. Thomas, we love you. There's Gordon and Henry, Edward, James and Toby, Annie and Clarabel.
• Boy: And don't forget Percy!
• Children: (singing) Terence and Bertie, Diesel, Duck and Daisy, Lots more friends for you. He's always up to mischief, That cheeky little train. He chugga-chugga-chuff-chuffs everywhere, He's always playing games. The Fat Controller scolds him, But loves him just the same. Our favourite little engine, Thomas is his name! Thomas the Tank Engine rolling along, (whistling) All of his friends will be coming along. Thomas we love you. Thomas the Tank Engine rolling along, (whistling) All of his friends will be coming along. Thomas we love you, Thomas we love you, Thomas, We love you!
• (Whistle blowing)
• (Once again, after the commercials, Bill, Ben and Fergus is the last story to start)
• Michael Brandon: Fergus is a small railway traction engine who works on the Island of Sodor. One day, he was on his way to the quarry. He had a special job to do for Sir Topham Hatt.
• Thomas: Hello!
• Michael Brandon: Whistled Thomas.
• Thomas: Where are you going?
• Fergus: To the quarry.
• Michael Brandon: Fergus chuffed happily.
• Thomas: Watch out for Bill and Ben the twins.
• Michael Brandon: Said Thomas.
• Thomas: They love to make mischief.
• Fergus: I won't let young rascals rattle me.
• Thomas: You don't know the twins like i do.
• Michael Brandon: Warned Thomas. Fergus arrived at the quarry. He went to work with Mavis and the twins.
• Mavis: I'm afraid the freight cars are in a mess.
• Michael Brandon: Said Mavis.
• Fergus: Not to worry. We'll soon sort them out.
• Michael Brandon: Bill and Ben were delighted.
• Ben: Now we'll have some fun.
• Michael Brandon: Whistled Ben.
• Bill: They will have the old boiler in a spin.
• Michael Brandon: Steamed Bill. Fergus liked helping Mavis. But he didn't like the way the twins were behaving one bit. Bill banged his freight cars hard. Some rocks fell onto the track.
• Fergus: Do it right!
• Michael Brandon: Fergus ordered. Bill didn't like being ordered about by a traction engine.
• Bill: Don't interfere!
• Michael Brandon: He snapped back. Then Ben pushed his freight cars to block the line. Fergus was stuck.
• Fergus: Out of my way!
• Michael Brandon: Steamed Fergus. But Ben just grinned. The next day, the men were blasting rock.
• Fergus: Wait for the all clear signal.
• Michael Brandon: Fergus called to Bill and Ben.
• Fergus: Do it right.
• Bill: There he goes again.
• Michael Brandon: Puffed Bill.
• Bill: Do it right, from morning till night.
• Ben: Keep your funnel out our quarry.
• Michael Brandon: Huffed Ben. The quarry master sent Bill and Ben to collect a rock crusher from the harbour. Fergus was left in peace with Mavis. The twins were still thinking about Fergus.
• Bill: He's just an old fusspot.
• Michael Brandon: Said Bill.
• Ben: He's always saying Do It Right.
• Bill: Well the next thing he tells us to do.
• Michael Brandon: Wheeshed Bill.
• Both: We'll do it wrong (laugh together)
• Michael Brandon: They laughed. Bill and Ben steamed back to the quarry. The rock crusher was heavy. It shook the rails as they went.
• Fergus: The blasting had made that rock face unsafe.
• Michael Brandon: Warned Fergus.
• Fergus: Don't go near it, do it right.
• Michael Brandon: But the twins took no notice of Fergus and were very naughty. As roughly as they could, they rattled the load towards the cliff.
• Fergus: Look out!
• Michael Brandon: Cried Fergus and he rushed forward and he bumped Bill and Ben out of the way. His driver jumped to safety as the rocks began to fall. But Fergus was covered in rocks right up to his funnel. It took a long time to dig him out. And no one worked harder to help than Bill and Ben. At last, Fergus was free. Bill and Ben were ashamed.
• Bill: We should have been so naughty.
• Michael Brandon: Said Bill.
• Ben: We're very sorry.
• Michael Brandon: Added Ben.
• Fergus: Good.
• Michael Brandon: Smiled Fergus.
• Fergus: From now on we can all do it right together.
• (There Once Was An Engine Who Ran Away is the last song to happen)
• Man: (singing) There once was an engine who ran away, Just up and went, And ran away, ran away. Stacked up his tender, and headed down the line, Toot toot, farewell, goodbye!
• Children: (singing) He overheard the wicked old Diesel say, He was heading for the scrapyard any day.
• Man: (singing) He didn't wanna wait for the fateful day. So the little old engine ran away.
• Children: (singing) He huffed and he puffed, his wheels started turning, He chuffed and he chuffed, his little firebox burning, He slipped his brake, let his whistle fly, Toot toot, farewell, goodbye!
• Children and Man (singing) And the little old engine ran away, Just up and went, And ran away, ran away.
• Man: (singing) Didn't feel part of the railway.
• Children and Man: (singing) So the little old engine ran away.
• (Owl hoots)
• Children: (singing) And when the other engines heard he'd gone, They felt so sad, 'cos they knew he had gone and gone. No matter what Diesel had to say, Sir Topham Hatt has the final say.
• Man: (singing) So he thought and he thought, Where could he be, could he be?
• Children: (singing) Some searched high, the others searched low.
• Children and Man: (singing) Where did he run, where did he run? We gotta bring the little engine home.
• Man: (singing) So they all went out to look around, Far and wide, and up and down No matter where they searched, no one seemed to know.
• Children and Man (singing) Oh where did the little old engine go? Thomas finally tracked him down, He was cold and blue, and all alone.
• Man: He told him he was needed back urgently.
• Boy: "Who me, really?"
• Girl: "Yes you, you silly engine!"
• Children and Man: (singing) 'Cos he's the pride of the railway!
• Man: (singing) So he huffed and he puffed, His wheels started turning, He chuffed and he chuffed his little firebox burning, He slipped his brake and was on his way, Toot toot, hip hip, hooray!
• Children and Man: (singing) Now the little old engine's heading home, To toots and cheers, hear the whistles blow. 'Cos now he's the pride of the railway!
• Girl: "Look everybody! Here comes Fergus!"
• Children: "Hooray!"
• Children and Man: (singing) Yes the little old engine's coming home!
• (Following the last song, we find the end credits with Thomas looking at us)
