Troublesome Beedrill

  • Ringo Starr: Al had not seen Bugs Bunny for several days. He was left alone for being naughty and was not even allowed out to work with coaches or Beedrill in the yard.
  • Al: Oh dear.
  • Ringo Starr: He thought.
  • Al: I shall have to stay in here for always and no one will see my red coat again. All because I went so fast that I made a hole in one of my coaches that had to be mended with, of all things, a passenger's bootlace.
  • Ringo Starr: At last Bugs Bunny arrived.
  • Bugs: I see you are sorry, Al.
  • Ringo Starr: He said.
  • Bugs: I hope now you will be a better kid. You have given me a lot of trouble. People are laughing at my land and I don't like that at all.
  • Al: I'm very sorry, sir.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Al.
  • Al: I will try hard to behave.
  • Bugs: That's a good boy.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Bugs Bunny.
  • Bugs: I want you to pull some Beedrill for me.
  • Ringo Starr: Al was delighted and puffed away.
  • Ash: Here's your freight train, Al.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Ash: Have you got some bootlaces ready?
  • Ringo Starr: And he ran off laughing.
  • Beedrill: Oh, oh, oh!
  • Ringo Starr: Said the Beedrill.
  • Beedrill: We want a proper character, not a red monster.
  • Ringo Starr: Al took no notice and started as soon as the guard was ready.
  • Al: Come along, come along.
  • Ringo Starr: He puffed.
  • Beedrill: We won't, we won't.
  • Ringo Starr: Screamed the Beedrill. But Al didn't care and he pulled the screeching Beedrill stermly out of the station. The Beedrill tried hard to make him give up but he still kept on. Sometimes their brakes will slip on and sometimes their axles will run hot and each time the trouble had to be put right and each time Al will start again, determined not to let them beat him.
  • Beedrill: Give up, give up! You can't pull us! You can't, you can't!
  • Ringo Starr: Called the Beedrill.
  • Al: I can and I will! I can and I will!
  • Ringo Starr: Puffed Al and slowly but surely, he pulled them along the line. At last they saw Terry's Hill.
  • Driver: Look out for trouble, Al.
  • Ringo Starr: Warned his driver.
  • Driver: We'll go fast and get them up before they know it. Don't let them stop you.
  • Ringo Starr: So Al went faster and soon they were halfway up.
  • Al: I'm doing it, I'm doing it.
  • Ringo Starr: He panted.
  • Al: Will the top never come?
  • Ringo Starr: Then with a sudden jerk, it all came easier.
  • Al: I've done it, I've done it.
  • Ringo Starr: He puffed.
  • Al: Hooray! It's easy now.
  • Ringo Starr: But his driver shut off steam.
  • Driver: They've done it again. We've left our tail behind. Look.
  • Ringo Starr: The last Beedrill were running backwards down the hill. A coupling had snapped. But the guard stopped the Beedrill and got out to warn approaching characters.
  • Al: That's why it was easy.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Al as he backed the other Beedrill carefully down.
  • Al: What silly things Beedrill are. They're might have been an accident.
  • Scott: Shall I help you, Al?
  • Ringo Starr: Called Scott.
  • Al: Uh, no thank you.
  • Ringo Starr: Answered Al.
  • Al: I'll pull them myself.
  • Scott: Good, don't let them beat you. You're doing well!
  • Ringo Starr: Whistled Scott and Al slowly struggled up the hill.
  • Al: I can do it, I can do it.
  • Ringo Starr: He puffed. He pulled and puffed as hard as he could.
  • Al: I've done it, I've done it!
  • Ringo Starr: He panted. They reached their station safely and Al was resting in the yard when Kevin pulled up.
  • Scott: Peep peep!
  • Ringo Starr: He whistled. Then, Al saw Bugs Bunny.
  • Al: Oh dear, what will he say?
  • Ringo Starr: He asked himself. But Bugs Bunny was smiling.
  • Bugs: I was in Scott;s train and I saw everything.
  • Ringo Starr: He said.
  • Bugs: You made the most troublesome Beedrill on the line behaved. After that, you deserved to keep your red coat.

Al and The Express

  • Ringo Starr: One night, Shaggy and Terry were alone with Al. Although Bugs Bunny was beginning to think well of them. Whenever a chance came the other characters will talk of nothing but bootlace.
  • Shaggy: Remember when they had to use a bootlace to get you out of trouble Al?
  • Ringo Starr: They would tease. Al tried to get back by talking about Shaggy who got shut up in a tunnel and Terry who got stuck on a hill. But they wouldn't listen.
  • Terry: You talk too much little Al.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Terry.
  • Terry: A fine strong character like me has something to talk about. I'm the only character who can pull the express. When I'm not there, they need two characters. Think of that. I've pulled expresses for years, and have never once lost my way. I seem to know the right line by instinct.
  • Ringo Starr: Every wise character knows of course that the signalman sets the switches to make the characters run on the right track. But Terry was so proud he had forgotten.
  • Terry: Wake up, Al.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Terry next morning.
  • Terry: It's nearly time for the express. What are you doing? Odd Jobs? Ah well. We all have to begin somewhere, don't we? Run along and get my coaches. Don't be late.
  • Ringo Starr: Al went to get Terry's coaches. They were all shining with new paint. He was careful not to bump them and they followed him smoothly into the station, singing happily...
  • Coaches: We're going away, we're going away.
  • Al: I wish I was going with you.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Al.
  • Al: I should love to pull the express and go flying above the line!
  • Ringo Starr: Terry with much noise and blowing off steam, got ready to back on to the train. Steven was on the train with other important people and as soon as they heard the conductor's whistle, Terry started.
  • Terry: Look at me now! Look at me now!
  • Ringo Starr: He puffed and the coaches glided after him.
  • Terry: Boop boop boop boop boop! Goodbye, little Raimundo, see you tomorrow!
  • Ringo Starr: Al watched the train disappeared and then went back to work. He pushed some Beedrill into their proper sidings and went to fetch the coaches for another train. Al had just brought the coaches into the platform when he heard a mournful noise. There was Terry trying to sneak into the station without being noticed.
  • Al: Hello, Terry. Is it tomorrow?
  • Ringo Starr: Asked Al. Terry didn't answer. He just let off steam feebly.
  • Al: Did you lose your weight, Terry?
  • Ringo Starr: Said Al.
  • Terry: No, it was lost for me. I was switched off the main line onto the loop. I have to go all around and back again.
  • Al: Perhaps it was instinct.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Al. Meanwhile, all the passengers hurried to the ticket window.
  • Passengers: We want our money back!
  • Ringo Starr: They shouted. But Bugs Bunny climbed onto a cart and blew the guard's whistle so loudly that they all stopped to look at him. Then he promised a new train at once.
  • Bugs: Terry can't do it.
  • Ringo Starr: He said.
  • Bugs: Will you pull it for us, Al?
  • Al: Yes sir, I'll try.
  • Ringo Starr: So Al was coupled on, and everyone got in.
  • Bugs: Do your best, Al.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Bugs.
  • Al: Come along, come along!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Al.
  • Coaches: You're pulling us well, you're pulling us well!
  • Ringo Starr: Sang the coaches. Bridges and stations flashed by the passengers cheered and they soon reached the station. Everyone said thank you to Al and Bugs Bunny was very impressed.
  • Bugs: Well done.
  • Ringo Starr: He said.
  • Bugs: Would you like to pull the express sometimes?
  • Al: Yes, please.
  • Ringo Starr: Answered Al. Next day when Al came by, Terry was pushing Beedrill.
  • Terry: I like some quiet work for a change.
  • Ringo Starr: He said.
  • Terry: I'm teaching these Beedrill manners. You did well with those coaches I hear. Good, we'll show them.
  • Ringo Starr: And he gave his Beedrill a bump. Al and Terry are now good friends. Al sometimes takes the express to give Terry a rest. Terry never talks about bootlaces, and they are both quite agreed on a subject of Beedrill.

Ash and The Guard

  • Ringo Starr: Ash Ketchum is very proud of his route. He thinks it's the most important part of the whole university. His two girls, Bailey and Marina, agree with him. Bailey could only take passengers but Marina can take passengers, luggage and the guard. They were both old and need new paint but Ash loves them very much. As they run backwards and forwards along the line, they sing songs to each other. When Ash starts from the station he sings...
  • Ash: Oh, come along, we're rather late. Oh, come along, we're rather late.
  • Ringo Starr: And the coaches sang...
  • Bailey and Marina: We're coming along. We're coming along.
  • Ringo Starr: They don't mind that Ash says to them because he know he was trying to please Bugs Bunny, and to know to that if Ash is cross, he's not cross with them. One day, they have to wait for Shaggy's train which made Ash very cross.
  • Ash: How could I run my line properly if Shaggy is always late? He doesn't realize that Bugs Bunny depends on me.
  • Ringo Starr: Ash whistled impatiently. He wanted to leave, but he have to wait for Shaggy's passengers. At last Shaggy came.
  • Ash: Where have you been, lazybones?
  • Ringo Starr: Asked Ash.
  • Shaggy: Oh dear, my system is out of order. No one understands my case. You don't know what I suffer.
  • Ringo Starr: Moaned Shaggy.
  • Ash: Rubbish!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Ash: You're too fat. You need exercise.
  • Ringo Starr: The guard blew his whistle and Ash started so quickly that he left him behind. The conductor waved his red flag to stop Ash, but he was on his way steaming out of the station.
  • Ash: Come along, come along.
  • Ringo Starr: Puffed Ash, but Marina didn't want to come.
  • Marina: I've lost my nice guard, I've lose my nice guard.
  • Ringo Starr: She sobbed. Bailey tried to tell Ash what had happened.
  • Bailey: We haven't a guard, we haven't a guard!
  • Ringo Starr: But he was hurrying and wouldn't listen. Bailey and Marina tried to put on their brakes, but they couldn't without their guard.
  • Bailey and Marina: Where is our guard? Where is our guard?
  • Ringo Starr: They cried, but Ash didn't stop till they came to a signal.
  • Ash: Bother that signal.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Ash: What's the matter?
  • Driver: I don't know.
  • Ringo Starr: Said his driver.
  • Driver: The guard will tell us in a minute.
  • Ringo Starr: They waited and waited but the guard didn't come.
  • Ash: Peep peep peep, where is the guard?
  • Ringo Starr: Whistled Ash.
  • Bailey and Marina: We've left him behind!
  • Ringo Starr: Sobbed Bailey and Marina together. Everyone looked, and there he was running as fast as he could along the line, with his flag on one hand and his whistle in the other. He was very hot, so he had a drink, and told them all about it.
  • Ash: I'm very sorry, Mr. Guard.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Guard: It wasn't your fault, Ash.
  • Ringo Starr: Replied the guard.
  • Guard: Look, the signal's down. We can go. Let's make up for lost time.
  • Ringo Starr: Bailey and Marina were so pleased to have their guard again, but they sang...
  • Bailey and Marina: As fast as you like, as fast as you like!
  • Ringo Starr: ...to Ash all the way. They reached the end of the line quicker than ever before.
  • (Ash arrives at the last station)

Ash Goes Fishing

  • Ringo Starr: When Ash walked along his route, he always looked forward to something special: the sight of the river. As they rumble over the bridge, he would see people fishing. Ash often wanted to stay and watch, but his driver said...
  • Driver: No! What would Bugs Bunny say if we were late?
  • Ringo Starr: Every time he met another character he say...
  • Ash: I want to fish.
  • Ringo Starr: But they all had the same answer.
  • Al: Characters don't go fishing.
  • Ash: Silly stick in the muds.
  • Ringo Starr: Thought Ash. One day, he stopped as usual to take him water at the station by the river. Out of order.
  • Ash: Bother!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Ash: I'm thirsty.
  • Driver: Never mind.
  • Ringo Starr: Said his driver.
  • Driver: We'll get some water from the river.
  • Ringo Starr: They found a bucket and some rope and went to the bridge. Then the driver left the bucket down to the water. The bucket was old and have five holes, so they had to fill it, pull it up, and empty it into Ash's tank as quickly as they could several times over. They finished at last.
  • Ash: That's good, that's good.
  • Ringo Starr: Puffed Ash and Bailey and Marina ran happily behind. Suddenly, Ash began to feel a pain in his boiler. Steam began to hiss with his safety valve in an alarming way.
  • Driver: There's too much steam!
  • Ringo Starr: Said his driver.
  • Thomas: Oh dear!
  • Ringo Starr: Groaned Ash.
  • Ash: I'm going to burst! I'm going to burst!
  • Ringo Starr: They damped down his fire and struggled on.
  • Ash: I've got such a pain, I've got such a pain!
  • Ringo Starr: Ash hissed. They stopped just outside the last station, uncoupled Bailey and Marina and ran Ash, who was still hissing fit to burst, on a siding right out of the way. Then, while the conductor telephoned for an engine inspector, the driver found notice in large letters, which he hung on Ash in front and behind. Danger: Keep Away. Soon, the inspector and Bugs Bunny arrived.
  • Inspector: Cheer up, Ash.
  • Ringo Starr: They said.
  • Inspector: We'll soon put you right.
  • Ringo Starr: The driver told them what had happened.
  • Inspector: So the feed pipe is blocked.
  • Ringo Starr: Said the inspector.
  • Inspector: I'll just look in the tanks.
  • Ringo Starr: He climbed up and peered in, then he came down.
  • Inspector: Excuse me, sir, please look in the tank and tell me what you see.
  • Bugs: Certainly, inspector.
  • Ringo Starr: Replied Bugs Bunny. He clambered up, looked in and nearly fell off in surprise.
  • Bugs: Inspector.
  • Ringo Starr: He whispered.
  • Bugs: Can you see fish?
  • (Ash is horrified upon hearing this)
  • Bugs: Gracious goodness me! How did the fish get there, driver?
  • Driver: We must have fished them from the river with our bucket.
  • Ringo Starr: Replied Ash's driver.
  • Bugs: Well, Ash, so you and your driver had been fishing. But fish don't suit you. We must get them out.
  • Ringo Starr: They all took turns and fishing into Ash's tank while Bugs looked down and told them how to do it. When they had caught all the fish, they had a lovely picnic supper of fish and chips.
  • Bugs: Mmm. That was good.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Bugs.
  • Bugs: But fish don't suit you, Ash, so you mustn't do it again.
  • Ash: No, sir, I won't.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash sadly.
  • Ash: Characters don't go fishing. It's too uncomfortable.

Ash, Freakazoid and The Snow

  • Ringo Starr: Autumn had come to the land of Netflix. The fields were changing from yellow stubble to brown earth and an tractor was hard at work as Ash puff along. Later Ash saw the tractor close by.
  • Freakazoid: Hello.
  • Ringo Starr: Said the tractor.
  • Freakazoid: I'm Freakazoid, I'm plowing.
  • Ash: I'm Ash, I'm pulling a train. What ugly wheels you got.
  • Freakazoid: They're not ugly, they're caterpillars.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Freakazoid.
  • Freakazoid: I can go anywhere. I don't need rails.
  • Ash: I don't want to go anywhere.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Ash: I like my rails, thank you.
  • Ringo Starr: Winter came with dark clouds full of snow.
  • Driver: I don't like it.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash's driver.
  • Driver: A heavy fall is coming. I hope it doesn't stop us.
  • Ash: Huh!
  • Ringo Starr: Puffed Ash.
  • Ash: Soft stuff, nothing to it.
  • Ringo Starr: And he puffed on feeling cold but confident. They finished their journey safely but by now the country was covered.
  • Driver: You need your snowplough for the next journey, Ash.
  • Ringo Starr: Said his driver.
  • Ash: Huh! Snow is silly soft stuff it won't stop me.
  • Ringo Starr: The snowplough was heavy and uncomfortable and made Ash cross. He shook it and he banged it and when they got back it was so damaged that the driver had to take it off.
  • Driver: You're a very naughty boy.
  • Ringo Starr: He said to Ash. Next morning, Ash's driver and fireman came early and worked hard to mend the snowplough, but they couldn't make it fit. Ash was pleased.
  • Ash: I shan't have to wear it, I shan't have to wear it.
  • Ringo Starr: He puffed to Bailey and Marina. But they were rather worried.
  • Bailey and Marina: I hope it's all right, I hope it's all right.
  • Ringo Starr: They whispered to each other. The driver was worried too.
  • Driver: It's not bad here.
  • Ringo Starr: He said to the fireman.
  • Driver: But it's sure to be deep in the valley.
  • Ash: Silly soft stuff.
  • Ringo Starr: Huffed Ash.
  • Ash: I didn't need that stupid old thing yesterday and I shan't today. Snow can't stop me.
  • Ringo Starr: He rushed into a tunnel thinking how clever he was. But there was trouble ahead.
  • (Crash)
  • Ash: Cinders and ashes!.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Ash: I'm stuck.
  • Ringo Starr: And he was.
  • Driver: Back, Ash, back.
  • Ringo Starr: Said his driver. Ash tried but his feet run and he couldn't move. The guard went back for help while everyone else tried to dig the snow away. But as fast as they dug, more snow slipped down until Ash was nearly buried.
  • Ash: Oh, my wheels and coupling rods. I shall have to stop here till I'm frozen. What a silly trainer I am.
  • Ringo Starr: And Ash began to cry. At last the bus came to rescue the passengers. And then who should come to Ash's rescue but Freakazoid. Snow never worries him.
  • (Freakazoid hooks up to Marina and pulls her and Bailey out of the snow)
  • Ringo Starr: He pulled the empty coaches away, then came back for Ash. Ash's feet were clear but still spun when he tried to move. Freakazoid tugged and slipped and slipped and tugged and at last dragged Ash clear of the snow ready for the journey home.
  • (Freakazoid goes away into the tunnel with Ash following him)
  • Ash: Oh, thank you, Freakazoid. Your caterpillars are splendid.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Driver: I hope you'll be sensible now, Ash.
  • Ringo Starr: Said his driver.
  • Ash: I'll try.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash and he puffed hummily away.

Ash and Sonic

  • Ringo Starr: Ash was waiting at the academy when a hedgehog arrived.
  • Ash: Hello.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Ash: Who are you?
  • Sonic: I'm Sonic. Who are you?
  • Ash: I'm Ash. I run this branch line.
  • Sonic: So you're Ash, eh? I remembered now. You got stuck in the snow. I took your passengers and Freakazoid pulled you out. I've come to help you with your passengers today.
  • Ash: Help me?
  • Ringo Starr: Said Ash.
  • Ash: I can go faster than you.
  • Sonic: You can't.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Sonic.
  • Ash: I can.
  • Ringo Starr: Huffed Ash.
  • Sonic: I'll race you!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Sonic. Their drivers agreed for the race going ahead. The stationmaster said...
  • Stationmaster: Are you ready? Go!
  • Ringo Starr: Ash never could go fast at first and Sonic drew in front.
  • Bailey and Marina: Why don't you go fast, why don't you go fast?
  • Ringo Starr: Called Bailey and Marina.
  • Ash: Wait and see, wait and see.
  • Ringo Starr: Hissed Ash.
  • Bailey and Marina: He's a long way ahead.
  • Ringo Starr: They wailed. But Ash didn't mind. He remembered the level crossing. There was Sonic fuming at the gates while they sail gaily through.
  • Ash: Goodbye, Sonic!
  • George Carlin: Called Ash. After that the road left the railway so that they couldn't see Sonic. Then, they had to stop at the station to let off passengers.
  • Ash: Peep peep peep! Quicky please!
  • Ringo Starr: Called Ash and off they went again.
  • Ash: Come along, come along.
  • Ringo Starr: Sang Ash.
  • Bailey and Marina: We're coming along, we're coming along.
  • Ringo Starr: Sang Bailey and Marina.
  • Ash: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • Ringo Starr: Panted Ash, then he looked ahead. There was Sonic tooting triumphly on his horn.
  • Ash: Oh deary me, oh deary me!
  • Ringo Starr: Groaned Ash.
  • Driver: Steady, Ash.
  • Ringo Starr: Said his driver.
  • Driver: We'll beat Sonic yet.
  • Bailey and Marina: We'll be Sonic yet, we'll beat Sonic yet.
  • Ringo Starr: Echoed Bailey and Marina.
  • Ash: We'll do it, we'll do it.
  • Ringo Starr: Panted Ash.
  • Ash: Oh bother! There's the station.
  • Ringo Starr: Then he heard Sonic.
  • Sonic: Goodbye, Ash. You must be tired. Sorry I can't stop. We hedgehogs have to work here you know. Goodbye.
  • Ash: Oh dear.
  • Ringo Starr: Thought Ash.
  • Ash: We've lost.
  • Ringo Starr: But he felt better after a drink. The signal dropped.
  • Ash: Hurrah, we're off! Hurrah, we're off!
  • Ringo Starr: Puffed Ash. As they crossed the bridge, they heard an impatient...
  • Sonic: Honk honk!
  • Ringo Starr: There was Sonic waiting at the traffic lights. he started with a roar and chased on after Ash once again. Now Ash reached his full speed. Sonic tried hard but Ash was too fast. Whistling triumphantly he plunged into the tunnel leaving Sonic toiling far behind.
  • Ash: We've done it, we've done it!
  • Ringo Starr: Panted Ash.
  • Bailey and Marina: We've done it, hooray! We've done it, hooray!
  • George Carlin: Chanted Bailey and Marina as they whooshed into the last station. Everyone was there to celebrate Ash's victory. But they gave Sonic a big welcome too.
  • Sonic: Well done, Ash.
  • George Carlin: Said Sonic.
  • Sonic: That was fun. But to beat you over that hill, I should have to grow wings and be an airplane.
  • Ringo Starr: They now kept each others very busy. They often talked about their race, but Sonic's passengers don't like being bounced like peas in the frying pan, and Bugs Bunny has warned Ash not to race at dangerous speeds. So although, between you and me, they would like to have another race. I don't think they ever will, do you?

Characters and Turntables

  • Ringo Starr: Shaggy and Terry were lonely when Ash left the yard to run his route. They missed him very much. They had more work to do and had to fetch some more coaches. They didn't like that. Al grumbled too.
  • Shaggy: We get no rest, we get no rest!
  • Ringo Starr: They all complained. But the coaches only laughed.
  • Coaches: You're lazy and slack, you're lazy and slack!
  • Ringo Starr: They answered. All together, the characters were causing Bugs Bunny a great deal of trouble. The big stations both ends on the line each have a turntable. Bugs Bunny had made them so that the tender characters can be turned round because it is dangerous for them to go fast and backwards. Characters like Ash don't need turntables. They can go just as well backwards as forwards. But to hear Terry talk, he would've thought that Bugs Bunny had given him a tender just to show how important he was.
  • Terry: You don't understand, little Ash. We Big Characters have a position to keep up. It doesn't matter where you go, but we are important, and for Bugs Bunny to make us shunt Beedrill, fetch coaches and go on some of those dirty sidings it's, it's, well, it's not the proper thing.
  • Ringo Starr: Ash chuckled and went off with Bailey and Marina.
  • Terry: Disgraceful!
  • Ringo Starr: Terry hissed as he ran backwards to the turntable. The turntable was in the windy place close to the sea, and he was not on it just right, he put amount of balance and made a difficult to turn. Today, Terry was in the bad temper, and the wind was blowing fiercly. His driver tried to make him stop in the right place but Terry wasn't trying. The fireman tried to turn the handle, but Terry's weight and the strong wind prevented him.
  • Driver: It's no good.
  • Ringo Starr: They said at last.
  • Driver: Your tender upsets the balance. If you're a little character, you be all right. Now you have to pull the next train backwards.
  • Boys: Look!
  • Ringo Starr: Called some boys.
  • Boys: There's a new character! Oh, it's only Terry, back to front.
  • Ash: Hello!
  • Ringo Starr: Called Ash.
  • Ash: Playing little characters? Sensible character. Take my advice, scrap your tender and have a nice bunker.
  • Ringo Starr: Terry said nothing. Even Al laughed when he saw him.
  • Terry: Take care.
  • Ringo Starr: Hissed Terry.
  • Terry: You might stick too.
  • Al: No fear.
  • Ringo Starr: Chuckled Al.
  • Al: I'm not so fat as you. I mustn't stick.
  • Ringo Starr: Thought Al. He stopped on just the right place to balance the table. It could now swing easily. Terry arrived and time to see everything. Al turned much too easily. The wind puffed him round like a top. He couldn't stop!
  • (Al spins faster and faster until he slows down, and as the turntable stops, he is all green and dizzy)
  • Terry: Well, well!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Terry.
  • Terry: Are you playing roundabouts?
  • Ringo Starr: Poor Al feeling quite giddy rolled off to the shed without a word. That night, the three characters had an indignation meeting.
  • Terry: It's shameful to treat tender characters like this. Terry has to go backwards and people think he's a tank character, Al spins like a top and everyone laughs at us. And added to that, Bugs Bunny makes us all shunt in dirty sidings. Blech! Listen.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Terry. He whispered something to the others.
  • Terry: We'll do it tomorrow. Bugs Bunny will look silly.
  • Ringo Starr: The characters had decided to go on strike.

Trouble In The Library

  • Ringo Starr: Bugs Bunny sat in his office listening to the noise outside. The passengers were angry. The stationmaster came in.
  • Stationmaster: There's trouble in the library, sir. Shaggy was sulking. There's no train and the passengers are saying this is a bad railway.
  • Bugs: Indeed.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Bugs Bunny.
  • Bugs: We cannot allow that.
  • Ringo Starr: He found Terry, Al and Shaggy looking very cross.
  • Steven: Come along, Shaggy. It's time your train was ready.
  • Terry: Shaggy's not going!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Terry.
  • Terry: We won't shunt like common characters. That was Ash's job. We are important tender characters. You fetch our coaches and we will pull them. Tender characters don't shunt.
  • Bugs: Oh, indeed.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Bugs Bunny.
  • Bugs: We'll see about that. Characters on my railway do as they are told.
  • Ringo Starr: And he hurried away to find Scott.
  • Bugs: The yard has never been the same since Ash left to run his branch line.
  • Ringo Starr: He thought sadly. Scott was shunting.
  • Bugs: Leave those Beedrill please, Scott.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Bugs.
  • Bugs: I want to push coaches for me in the yard.
  • Scott: Thank you, sir. That will be a nice change.
  • Bugs: That's a good boy. Off you go then.
  • Ringo Starr: So Bugs found coaches for the three characters and that day, the train's ran as usual. But next morning, Scott looked unhappy. Terry came clanking pass hissing rudely.
  • Bugs: Bless me!
  • Ringo Starr: Said Bugs.
  • Bugs: What a noise!
  • Scott: They all hissed me, Sir.
  • Ringo Starr: Answered Scott.
  • Scott: They say tender characters don't shunt and last night they said I have black feet. I haven't have I, sir?
  • Bugs: No Scott, you have nice blue ones, and I'm proud of you. Tender characters do shunt, but all the same we do need another character here.
  • Ringo Starr: He went to the workshop and they showed them all sorts of characters. At last, he saw a little Xiaolin Monk.
  • Bugs: That's the one.
  • Ringo Starr: He thought.
  • Bugs: If I choose you, will you work hard?
  • Omi: Oh sir, yes sir.
  • Bugs: That's a good boy. I'll call you Omi.
  • Omi: Yes sir, thank you sir.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Omi. And Bugs Bunny brought him back to the yard.
  • Bugs: Scott.
  • Ringo Starr: He called.
  • Bugs: Here's Omi. Will you show him everything?
  • Ringo Starr: Omi soon learned what he had to do and they had a happy afternoon. Then Shaggy came by hissing as usual.
  • Omi: Wheesh!
  • Ringo Starr: Went Omi. Shaggy jumped and ran back to the shed.
  • Scott: How beautifully you wheeshed him!
  • Ringo Starr: Laughed Scott.
  • Scott: I can't wheesh like that.
  • Omi: Oh.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Omi.
  • Omi: That's nothing. You should hear them in the workshop. You have to wheesh loudly to make yourself heard.
  • Ringo Starr: Next morning, Ash arrived.
  • Ash: Bugs Bunny sent to me. I expect he wants help.
  • Ringo Starr: He said to Scott.
  • Scott: Sh, sh, here he comes.
  • Ringo Starr: Replied Scott.
  • Bugs: Well done, Ash, you've been quick. Listen, Shaggy, Terry and Al are sulking they say they won't shunt like common characters, so I have shut them up and I want you both to run a line for a while.
  • Ash: Common characters indeed.
  • Ringo Starr: Snorted Ash.
  • Ash: We'll show them.
  • Bugs: And Omi will help too.
  • Omi: Oh sir, yes sir, please sir.
  • Ringo Starr: Answered Omi. Scott and Ash worked the main line greeting each other as they pass by. Omi puffed along the branch line. Ash was anxious about Bailey and Marina, but both driver and conductor promise to take care of them. They were fewer trains but the passengers didn't mind. They knew the three other characters were having a lesson. Terry, Al and Shaggy were cold, lonely and miserable. They wish now they haven't been so silly.

Omi Runs Away

  • Ringo Starr: Shaggy, Al and Terry were miserable. They had been shut up for several days for being naughty and longed to be let out again. At last, Bugs Bunny arrived.
  • Bugs: I hope you are sorry.
  • Ringo Starr: He said.
  • Bugs: And understand that every job on the railway is important. We have a new character named Omi who helps pull coaches and Ash and Scott had worked the main line nicely, but I will let you now if you promise to work hard.
  • Terry: Yes sir.
  • Ringo Starr: Said the three characters.
  • Al: We will.
  • Bugs: That's right, but please remember that this no shunting nonsense must stop.
  • Ringo Starr: He then told Omi, Scott and Ash that they can go and play on a branch line for a few days, and they ran off happily to find Bailey and Marina at the junction. The two ladies were very pleased to see Ash again. Scott and Omi played with the Beedrill.
  • Beedrill: Stop, stop, stop!
  • Ringo Starr: Screamed the Beedrill as they pushed them to their proper sidings. But the two boys laughed and went on shunting till the Beedrill were tightling arranged. Next, Scott took some empty Beedrill from the quarry. Alex was left alone. He didn't mind that a bit. He like watching trains and being cheeky to the other characters.
  • Omi: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • Ringo Starr: He would call, and they got very cross. After a great deal of shunting, Alex was waiting for the signalman to set the points so that he can go back to the yard. He was eager to work, but was being rather careless and not paying attention. Scott had warned Omi.
  • Scott: Be careful on the main line. Whistle to the signalman that you are there.
  • Ringo Starr: But Omi didn't remember to whistle, and so the busy signalman forgot him. Omi waited and waited. The points were still against him so he couldn't move. Then, he looked along the main line.
  • Omi: Peep, peep!
  • Ringo Starr: He whistled in horror, for rushing straight towards him was Terry with the express.
  • Terry: Oh!
  • Ringo Starr: Groaned Terry.
  • Terry: Get out of my way!
  • (Terry approaches Omi, who then shuts his eyes and the big character comes to a frightening halt)
  • Ringo Starr: Omi opened his eyes. Terry had stopped with Omi's buffers a few inches from his own. But Omi had began to move.
  • Omi: I won't stay here, I'll run away!
  • Ringo Starr: He puffed. He ran straight through Scott's station, and was so frighetend that he ran right up Terry's hill without stopping. After that, he was tired, but he couldn't stop. He had no driver to shut off steam and applied his brakes.
  • Omi: I want to stop! I want to stop!
  • Ringo Starr: He puffed. The man in the signalbox saw Omi was in trouble, so he kindly set the points. Omi puffed wearly onto a nice empty siding, ending in a big bank of earth. He was too tired now to care where he went.
  • Omi: I want to stop, I want to stop! I have stopped!
  • Ringo Starr: He puffed thankfully.
  • Workmen: Never mind, Omi.
  • Ringo Starr: Said the workmen as they dug him out.
  • Workmen: You shall have some drink and some coal and then you feel better.
  • Ringo Starr: Presently, Terry arrived.
  • Terry: Well done, Omi. You started so quickly that you stopped the nasty accident.
  • Omi: I'm sorry I was cheeky.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Omi.
  • Omi: You were clever to stop.
  • Ringo Starr: Then Terry helped pull Omi out from the bank. Omi is still cheeky because he's that sort of character. But he was always most careful that he goes out on the main line.
