  • (The Thomas Season 6 intro soon follows and we begin Twin Trouble)
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald and Douglas are Scottish twin engines. They are practical peppery and proud. They nearly always work together. One day, Donald and Douglas were chuffing through the countryside hauling a heavy load. Down the line, Trevor the Traction Engine had been struggling with a big cartload of hay. Crossing the tracks, the cart's wheels have broken off. Then Trevor heard a whistle.
  • Trevor: Oh no!
  • Alec Baldwin: Trevor cried. Donald could see the cart.
  • Donald: Stop!
  • Alec Baldwin: He cried. Donald's driver applied the brakes, but it was too late. Luckily, no one was hurt.
  • Donald: Stop being pushy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald snapped.
  • Douglas: Don't call me pushy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Douglas snapped back.
  • Donald: You shouldn't have pushed me into the cart.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed Donald.
  • Douglas: You pulled me you mean.
  • Alec Baldwin: Argued Douglas.
  • Donald: Didn't!
  • Douglas: Did!
  • Donald: Did not!
  • Douglas: Did too!
  • Alec Baldwin: Before long the track was cleared and Donald and Douglas were on their way. The twins were so cross they refuse to speak to each other for the rest of the day. The next day, Sir Topham Hatt needed an engine to help Duck at the smelter's yards.
  • Donald: May I go, sir?
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Donald eagerly.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I only need one engine.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Not two.
  • Donald: I am only one engine, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Donald.
  • Donald: And I would like to help with Duck.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt was surprised but agreed. Thomas was worried.
  • Thomas: Won't you miss one another?
  • Alec Baldwin: He asked.
  • Thomas: I know I missed Annie and Clarabel.
  • Douglas: I'll work better on my own.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sniffed Douglas.
  • Donald: I have work to do.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed Donald. At first, Donald enjoyed working with Duck. Then, things started to go wrong.
  • Donald: Did you shunt those freight cars on the other line?
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald asked.
  • Duck: You said you wanted them on the other line.
  • Alec Baldwin: Duck replied.
  • Donald: Not that other line, the other other line.
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald was cross.
  • Donald: Douglas would have known what I've meant.
  • Alec Baldwin: He huffed. Douglas was working on his own. He chuffed dutifully through the beautiful countryside. But Douglas had no one to share it with. Altough he tried not to he was beginning to miss his twin. That night, Douglas' Driver took him to see Donald.
  • Douglas: I was just passing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Douglas.
  • Donald: Have you come to say you're sorry?
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald sniffed. This made Douglas very cross.
  • Douglas: I've nothing to be sorry for.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said and steamed away in a huff. The next day, Donald was in a bad mood. Duck could see he was getting too close for the buffers.
  • Duck: Look out!
  • Alec Baldwin: Duck shouted, but it was too late. Donald's driver was very cross.
  • Donald's Driver: This would've happened if you were working with Douglas.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said. Donald knew he was right and Duck knew he couldn't pull Donald back onto the rails. So he went for help. Douglas was sadly finishing his work as Duck steamed into the depot.
  • Duck: Donald is in trouble.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Duck.
  • Douglas: Donald in trouble?
  • Alec Baldwin: Douglas cried.
  • Douglas: I'm on my way!
  • Alec Baldwin: And he steamed off as fast as he could. Douglas struggled and struggled, he finally pulled his twin gently back on to the tracks. He was relief Donald wasn't hurt.
  • Donald: Thank you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald said.
  • Donald: And I'm sorry.
  • Douglas: No, I'm sorry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Douglas.
  • Donald: I'm sorry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Insisted Donald.
  • Duck: Don't argue about who's sorry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuckled Duck.
  • Duck: Just be glad you're back together.
  • Alec Baldwin: And they were.
  • (A nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Buffer Bother)
  • Alec Baldwin: Bill and Ben are quarry engines. They are twins. They play together, they shunt freight cars together. They even get up to naughtyness together. Whenever you find Bill you will find Ben. Whether you find Ben you will find Bill. Sir Topham Hatt had come to inspect his quarry engines. He found that Mavis and Bill were in fine working order.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Unfortunately, Ben.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Your buffers are damaged. You must report to the engine works inmediately for a new set of buffers. Mavis you will have to work with Bill until Ben returns.
  • Mavis: Yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Mavis and Sir Topham Hatt drove away. Ben was happy.
  • Ben: I'm going to get new buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: He gloated to Bill.
  • Bill: Well i should get new buffers too.
  • Alec Baldwin: Bill complained.
  • Bill: We're twins. We do everything together.
  • Ben: But you don't need new buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: Ben teased.
  • Bill: You're getting new buffers because you're getting clumsy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Snorted Bill enviously.
  • Ben: No I'm not!
  • Bill: Yes you are!
  • Ben: No I'm not!
  • Bill: Yes you are!
  • Mavis: Will you two stop being crackpots?
  • Alec Baldwin: Mavis scolded.
  • Mavis: Now come on, Bill, we've got work to do.
  • Alec Baldwin: Ben couldn't wait to get new buffers. Later, Bill watched as Ben chuffed away to the engine works. He was green with envy, he wanted new buffers too. Bill returned to his job but he wasn't thinking about work. All he could think about was Ben's new buffers.
  • Bill: Ooh!
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Bill.
  • Bill: (sneezes)
  • Mavis: Be careful.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Mavis.
  • Mavis: And stop thinking about Ben's new buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: Bill tried thinking about birds, he tried thinking about trees, he tried thinking about anything but Ben and his brand new buffers. But it didn't work.
  • Bill: I want new buffers too!
  • Alec Baldwin: He cried.
  • Mavis: Just be happy you're in good working order.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Mavis.
  • Bill: It's not fair!
  • Alec Baldwin: Bill huffed and he wheeshed soot all over Mavis.
  • Mavis: Bill!
  • Alec Baldwin: Gasped Mavis.
  • Bill: Oops, sorry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Bill. Bill tried his best to get with his work. But the troublesome trucks have spotted a chance for a tease.
  • Trucks: Poor poor Bill, he works, he suffers, while Ben his twin gets brand new buffers!
  • Bill: I might not have new buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Bill: But I still know how to biff troublesome trucks.
  • Mavis: No!
  • Alec Baldwin: Mavis cried. But it was too late. Ben puffed into the quarry with his shiny new buffers just in time to hear...
  • Bill: Bust my buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Bill.
  • Ben: I think you have.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ben. When Sir Topham Hatt arrived and saw Bill's broken buffers, he was not happy.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You behaved badly Bill.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Do you have anything to say for yourself?
  • Bill: Yes, sir. I'm sorry, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Bill.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Before you get new buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt continued.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want you to think what it means to be a responsible reliable engine.
  • Bill: Yes Sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Answered Bill weakly. After Sir Topham Hatt left, Ben rolled up to Bill with his new buffers gleaming.
  • Bill: They are nice buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: Bill said.
  • Ben: Thanks.
  • Alec Baldwin: Ben said.
  • Ben: I'm sorry I teased you.
  • Bill: That's all right.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Bill.
  • Bill: I was naughty too.
  • Ben: Of course you are.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ben.
  • Ben: We're twins.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Thomas Saves The Day)
  • George Carlin: Every day, Sir Topham Hatt came to the station to catch his train.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Hello.
  • George Carlin: He always said to Thomas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Don't let the silly freight cars tease you. Remember, you have an important job as a special helper in the train yard.
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • George Carlin: There were lots of freight cars and Thomas worked very hard pushing and pulling them into place. There was also a small coach and two strange things his driver called cranes.
  • Thomas' Driver: That's the breakdown train.
  • George Carlin: He told Thomas.
  • Thomas' Driver: The cranes are for lifting heavy things like engines and coaches and freight cars.
  • George Carlin: One day, Thomas was in the yard. Suddenly he heard an engine whistling.
  • James: Help! Help!
  • George Carlin: A freight train came rushing through much too fast. The engine was James and he was frightened. His brake blocks were on fire.
  • James: They're pushing me, they're pushing me.
  • George Carlin: He panted.
  • Freight Cars: On! On!
  • George Carlin: Laughed the freight cars. Still whistling...
  • James: Help! Help!
  • George Carlin: Poor James disappeared.
  • Thomas: I like to teach those freight cars a lesson.
  • George Carlin: Said Thomas the Tank Engine.
  • (We hear an alarm ringing)
  • George Carlin: Soon came the alarm.
  • Signalman: James is off the line. The breakdown train quickly.
  • George Carlin: Thomas was coupled on and off they went. Thomas worked his hardest.
  • Thomas: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • George Carlin: He puffed. He wasn't predenting to be like Gordon. He really meant it.
  • Thomas: Bother those freight cars and their tricks. I hope poor James isn't hurt.
  • George Carlin: James' driver and fireman were feeling him all over to see if he was hurt.
  • (Cows mooing)
  • James' Driver and Fireman: Never mind James.
  • George Carlin: They said.
  • James' Driver and Fireman: It was those silly freight cars and your old wooden brakes that caused the accident.
  • George Carlin: Thomas pushed the breakdown train alongside. Then he pulled away the unhurt freight cars.
  • Freight Cars: Oh, dear. Oh, dear.
  • George Carlin: They groaned.
  • Thomas: Serves you right, serves you right.
  • George Carlin: Puffed Thomas. He was hard at work puffing backwards and forwards all afternoon.
  • Thomas: This'll teach you a lesson, this'll teach you a lesson.
  • George Carlin: He told the freight cars. And they answered...
  • Freight Cars: Yes it will, yes it will.
  • George Carlin: They left the broken cars. Then with two cranes they put James back on the rails.
  • (The cranes lift James away from the field. A surprised Thomas watches as James is put back to the rails)
  • George Carlin: He tried to move, but he couldn't so Thomas helped him back to the shed. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting anxiously for them.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well, Thomas.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I heard all about it and i'm very pleased with you. You're a really useful engine. James shall have some proper brakes and a new coat of paint and you shall have a branch line all to yourself.
  • Thomas: Oh thank you sir.
  • George Carlin: Said Thomas. Now Thomas is as happy as can be. He has a branch line and two coaches called Annie and Clarabel. He puffs proudly backwards and forwards with them all day. He is never lonely. Edward and Henry stop quite often and tell him the news. Gordon is always in a hurry but never forgets to say...
  • Gordon: Boop Boop.
  • George Carlin: And Thomas always whistles...
  • Thomas: Peep Peep.
  • George Carlin: In return.
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Down The Mine)
  • George Carlin: One day, Thomas was at the junction when Gordon shuffled in with some freight cars.
  • Thomas: Phew!
  • George Carlin: Remarked Thomas
  • Thomas: What a funny smell. Can you smell a smell?
  • Annie: I can't smell a smell.
  • George Carlin: Said Annie.
  • Thomas: A funny musty sort of smell.
  • George Carlin: Said Thomas.
  • Gordon: No one noticed until you did.
  • George Carlin: Grumbled Gordon.
  • Gordon: It must be yours.
  • George Carlin: Not long ago, he had fallen into a dirty ditch. Thomas enjoyed teasing him about it.
  • Thomas: Annie, Clarabel, do you know what i think it is? It's ditchwater.
  • George Carlin: Before Gordon could answer, Thomas puffed away. Annie and Clarabel could hardly believe their ears.
  • Annie: He's dreadfully rude i feel quite ashamed.
  • Clarabel: I feel quite ashamed he's dreadfully rude.
  • George Carlin: And to Thomas they said.
  • Annie and Clarabel: You musn't be rude, you make us ashamed.
  • George Carlin: But Thomas didn't care a bit.
  • Thomas: That was funny, that was funny.
  • George Carlin: He chuckled. He felt very pleased with himself. Annie and Clarabel were deeply shocked. They have great respect for Gordon The Big Engine. Thomas left the coaches at the station and went off to a mine for some cars. Long ago, miners digging there have made tunnels under the ground. Their rooves are strong enough to hold up cars but not the weight of engines. A large notice warns them not to enter the area: Danger! Engines must not pass this board.
  • Thomas: Silly old board.
  • George Carlin: Thought Thomas. He had often tried to pass it but had never suceeded. But this morning he had made a plan. The fireman went to throw the switch.
  • Thomas: Now for my plan!
  • George Carlin: Huffed Thomas. Bumping the cars fiercely he jerked his driver off the footplate and followed them into the siding.
  • Thomas' Driver: Come back!
  • George Carlin: Yelled his driver.
  • (A loud splash is heard as Thomas falls to the mine)
  • Thomas: Fire and smoke!
  • George Carlin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: I'm sunk.
  • George Carlin: And he was.
  • Thomas: Oh, dear.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Thomas: I am a silly engine.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: And a very naughty one, too. I saw you!
  • George Carlin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Thomas: Please let me out. I wont do it again.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I'm not sure. We can't lift you out with the cranes. The ground's not firm enough. Hmm, let me see. I wonder if Gordon could pull you out.
  • Thomas: Yes sir.
  • George Carlin: Said Thomas. But he didn't want to meet Gordon just yet.
  • Gordon: Down the mine is he? Ha! ha! ha!
  • George Carlin: Laughed Gordon.
  • Gordon: What a joke! Boop boop! Little Thomas, we'll have your out in a couple of puffs.
  • George Carlin: Strong cables were fastened between the two engines.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Are you ready? Heave!
  • George Carlin: It was a lot harden than they all thought. At last Thomas was free.
  • Thomas: I'm sorry i was cheeky.
  • George Carlin: Said Thomas.
  • Gordon: That's all right, Thomas. You made me laugh.
  • George Carlin: Replied Gordon.
  • Gordon: I'm in disgrace.
  • Thomas: So do i.
  • George Carlin: Huffed Thomas.
  • Gordon: Why so you are Thomas. Shall we form an alliance. You help me and i help you.
  • Thomas: Right you are.
  • George Carlin: Agreed Thomas.
  • Gordon: Good. That's settled.
  • George Carlin: Grumbled Gordon. And buffer to buffer the allies puffed home.
  • (Gordon's whistle toots and Thomas' whistle toots)
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Percy Takes The Plunge)
  • George Carlin: One day, Henry wanted a rest, but Percy was talking to some engines. He was telling them about the time he had brave bad weather to help Thomas.
  • Percy: It was raining hard. Water swirled under my boiler. I couldn't see where I was going, but I struggled on.
  • Bill: Oh, Percy, you are brave.
  • Percy: Well, it wasn't anything really. Water's nothing to an engine with determination.
  • Ben: Tell us more, Percy.
  • Henry: What are you engines doing here?
  • George Carlin: Hissed Henry.
  • Henry: This shed is for Sir Topham Hatt's engines. Go away. Silly things.
  • George Carlin: Henry snorted.
  • Percy: They're not silly.
  • George Carlin: Percy had been enjoying himself.
  • Henry: They are silly and so are you. Water's nothing to an engine with determination. Huh.
  • Percy: Anyway.
  • George Carlin: Said cheeky Percy.
  • Percy: I'm not afraid of water, I like it.
  • George Carlin: He ran off to the harbour singing.
  • Percy: Once an engine attached to a train, was afraid of a few drops of rain.
  • Henry: No one ever lets me forget the time i wouldn't come out of the tunnel in case the rain spoiled my paint.
  • George Carlin: Huffed Henry. Thomas was looking at the board on the key.
  • Thomas: Danger. We mustn't go passed it.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Thomas: That's orders.
  • Percy: Why?
  • Thomas: Danger means falling down something.
  • George Carlin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: I went pass danger once, and fell down a mine.
  • Percy: I can't see a mine.
  • George Carlin: Said Percy. He didn't know that the foundations of the key had sunk. The rails now sloped down into the sea.
  • Percy: Stupid board.
  • George Carlin: Said Percy. He made a plan. One day, he whispered to the cars.
  • Percy: Will you give me a bump when we get to the key?
  • George Carlin: The cars had never asked to bump an engine before. They giggled and chattered about it.
  • Percy: Driver doesn't know my plan.
  • George Carlin: Chuckled Percy.
  • Cars: On, on, on!
  • George Carlin: Laughed the cars. Percy thought they were helping.
  • Percy: I'll pretend to stop at the station, but the cars will push me pass the board. Then I'll make them stop. I can do that wherever I like.
  • George Carlin: Every wise engine knows that you cannot trust freight cars.
  • Cars: Go on, go on!
  • George Carlin: They yelled, and bumped Percy's driver and fireman off the footplate.
  • Percy: Ow!
  • George Carlin: Said Percy, sliding pass the board. Percy was frantic.
  • Percy: That's enough!
  • George Carlin: Percy was sunked.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You are a very disobeident engine.
  • George Carlin: Percy knew that voice.
  • Percy: Please, sir, get me out, sir, I'm truly sorry, sir.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: No, Percy, we cannot do that till high tide. I hope it will teach you to take care of yourself.
  • Percy: Yes, sir.
  • George Carlin: It was dark when they brought floating cranes to rescue Percy. He was too cold and stiff to move by himself. Next day, he was sent to the works on Henry's freight train.
  • Henry: Well, well, well!
  • George Carlin: Chuckled Henry.
  • Henry: Did you like the water?
  • Percy: No.
  • Henry: I am surprised. You need more determination, Percy. Water's nothing to an engine with determination you know. Perhaps you will like it better next time.
  • George Carlin: Percy is quite determined that they'll won't be a next time.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Scaredy Engines)
  • Alec Baldwin: The engines on the Island of Sodor look forward to Halloween. They love Sir Topham Hatt's fireworks and the children dressing up as wizards and witches. They also loved Edward's spooky stories.
  • Edward: They say that on Halloween, the ghost engine returns to the smelters looking for his lost whistle: Whoo, whoo!
  • Engines: Ooh, aah, spooky!
  • Alec Baldwin: The engines said all shivering a little. Later, Sir Topham Hatt arrived.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas, Percy and Duck, i have a special job for you. You are to collect some scrap from the smelters yard tonight.
  • Percy: On Halloween!?
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Don't worry. You'll be back in time for the fireworks.
  • Thomas: Percy isn't worried about missing the fireworks.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Thomas.
  • Thomas: He's a scaredy engine.
  • Percy: I am not!
  • Alec Baldwin: Called Percy. But he was, a little. At the smelters, all Percy could think about was Edward's ghost engine. Thomas knew Percy was scared. So he teased him even more.
  • Thomas: What's that up there.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas squeaked.
  • Thomas: Is it a spook?
  • Percy: It's just a piece of twisted scrap.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy said nervously.
  • Percy: Isn't it?
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas was having fun. He kept on teasing Percy.
  • Thomas: Careful, the ghost engine doesn't get you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas said.
  • Percy: There's no such thing as ghosts!
  • Alec Baldwin: Snapped Percy. Duck felt sorry for Percy
  • Duck: Nobody's brave all the time.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Duck.
  • Percy: But i'm not a scaredy engine.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy insisted. The job was nearly complete.
  • Yard Manager: Well done.
  • Alec Baldwin: The yard manager said.
  • Yard Manager: Now i'll need one engine to finish up.
  • Alec Baldwin: Duck wanted to pay Thomas back for all his teasing.
  • Duck: Please sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Duck: I'm sure Thomas wouldn't mind stay.
  • Thomas: Of course not.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas boasted.
  • Thomas: I'm not a scaredy engine.
  • Alec Baldwin: So Duck and Percy left. When Thomas was by himself, every sound and every shadow was spooky. He was beginning to feel very scared.
  • Thomas: There's no such thing as ghosts.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said nervously.
  • Thomas: Who's there?
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas was so busy looking for ghosts, he didn't watch where he was going. The chains felt like ghost fingers.
  • Thomas: Something's got me.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas wheeshed and set off an old steam whistle.
  • (Old whistle blows)
  • Thomas: The g-g-ghost whistle.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas and he raced away as fast as his wheels could carry him.
  • Thomas: (echoing) The ghost engine is after me!
  • Duck: It was naughty of Thomas to tease you, Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Duck.
  • Percy: He was only playing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Percy.
  • Percy: I hope he hurries up. I wouldn't want him to be late for the fireworks.
  • Thomas: He's after meeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
  • Duck: I don't think he'll be late.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Duck. Duck and Percy joined the other engines for the fireworks.
  • Percy: Where's Thomas?
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy asked.
  • Percy: He'll miss all the fun.
  • Duck: It would serve him right after all his teasing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Duck said. But Percy was worried. He went to look for his friend. He found Thomas all alone in the shed.
  • Percy: Are you all right, Thomas?
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Thomas: Yes. I'm sorry i teased you, Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas said.
  • Thomas: Duck was right. We all feel scared sometimes.
  • Percy: And we all have to say sorry sometimes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his friend.
  • Percy: So come on, Thomas, we can watch the fireworks just as well from here.
  • Alec Baldwin: And he was right.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Jack Frost)
  • Alec Baldwin: It was an icy day on the Island of Sodor. The engines were working very hard. They didn't mind the cold because they had toasting hot fireboxes to keep them warm. That evening, Sir Topham Hatt came to the sheds.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: There's a big freeze coming tonight.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: James and Percy are to deliver extra coal to the stations.
  • James and Percy: Yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: They said eagerly and Sir Topham Hatt drove away.
  • Thomas: You better hurry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Thomas.
  • Thomas: Or scary Jack Frost might get you.
  • Percy: Who's Jack Frost?
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy whistled nervously.
  • James: Don't be so silly.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sniffed James.
  • James: Jack Frost is not scary.
  • Thomas: Yes he is.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Thomas.
  • Thomas: He's all white with a big spiky face.
  • James: Rubbish!
  • Alec Baldwin: Said James. James knew Jack Frost wasn't scary, but poor Percy wasn't so sure. Percy shivered.
  • Percy: Jack Frost is not scary, Jack Frost is not scary, Jack Frost is not scary.
  • Alec Baldwin: Meanwhile, James puffed along his route.
  • James: Silly Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: He thought.
  • James: All steamed up over Jack Frost.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy made his last delivery. The stationmaster was very pleased to see him.
  • Stationmaster: Oh, Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: He cried.
  • Stationmaster: We need twice as much coal to last through this freeze.
  • Percy: Don't worry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy said.
  • Percy: This is my last stop, you can have mine.
  • Alec Baldwin: So Percy's driver parked him in a siding with only a lantern for company.
  • Percy: Do you think scary Jack Frost will find me.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Percy.
  • Percy's Driver: Jack Frost not scary.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuckled his driver.
  • Percy's Driver: And don't worry Elizabeth will bring you some more coal in the morning.
  • Alec Baldwin: And then his driver and fireman went home to bed. Late at night, the icy wind howled. It started to snow. Soon, Percy's face was so cold, an icicle hung from his nose.
  • Percy: Oh, b-b-b-b-bother.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy stuttered, but it didn't sound like Percy. It was so cold, he could hardly make a sound. At last, James was on his way back to the sheds. In the fog, he saw shadows and strange and scary shapes.
  • James: Scary Jack Frost.
  • Alec Baldwin: He whispered nervously.
  • James: Pah!
  • Percy: Hello, J-j-j-j-james.
  • Alec Baldwin: Muttered Percy icily.
  • James: Scary Jack Frost!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried James and he raced away as fast as his wheels could carry him. He didn't stop until he got back to the sheds. The next morning, Elizabeth brought plenty of coal.
  • Elizabeth: Oh my dear.
  • Alec Baldwin: Elizabeth chuffed to Percy.
  • Elizabeth: It looks like Jack Frost really got you.
  • Alec Baldwin: The firelighter started Percy's fire. Soon, his ice mask melted away.
  • Percy: So scary Jack Frost is only frost.
  • Alec Baldwin: Tooted Percy happily and soon he was as warm as toast. When Percy arrived at the sheds, James was bragging to the other engines.
  • James: I saw scary Jack Frost last night.
  • Alec Baldwin: James huffed.
  • James: He even knows my name.
  • Percy: He also knows that you ran away.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Percy and all the engines whistled including James. But Percy's was the loudest whistle of all.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin James The Really Splendid Engine)
  • Children: (singing) He's a really splendid engine, everybody knows, But he does go on and on and on, always telling us so! He is a splendid fellow, but he really is quite vain. Who do we mean?
  • Girl: You got it!
  • Children: James!
  • (Conductor's whistle blows)
  • Children: (singing) Take a look who's coming down the track, Make way for James, hooray for James. Shiny shiny paint with the jet-black stack, Make way for James, hooray for James. What it is for certain and we really should note.
  • Girl: It's indisputable, but let's take a vote.
  • Children: (singing) He's the really splendid engine with the bright red coat. James, (ee-oh) He can brag all day - how fast he goes, How good he looks — he's such a pose. But what about the time he got covered in mud, Oh. what a dope. what a dud! But up and down the line you'll hear the others say, "Despite his vanity, he really is OK. Dependable, reliable, and seldom late, We all think James is great!" Speeding down the line like a lightning flash, Make way for James, hooray for James. Hang on to your hat as he whooshes past, Make way for James, hooray for James.
  • Girl: He really knows how to stage a show.
  • Boy: You gotta stand back and watch him go.
  • Children: (singing) He's the really splendid engine with the bright red coat. Look who's swaning it down the track. Make way for James, hooray for James. He never looks up, he never looks back, Make way for James, hooray for James. A tad conceited, and really quite vain, He knows we love him just the same. Take a look who's coming down the track, Make way for James, hooray for James. Shiny shiny paint with the jet-black stack. Make way for James, hooray for James. He's the really splendid engine, shiny, shiny engine. He's the really splendid engine, yep, that's our James.
  • Man: That's James!
