The University of Southern California is a private university in Los Angeles, California. It was founded in 1880 under the motto Palmam qui meruit ferat (Let whoever earns the palm bear it). It has a liberal arts college and several professional schools. Some of the professional schools require a major-specific portfolio or audition.
