[edit] FFV
Omega HD FFV’s flagship high-end Omega deck digital video recorder is now available with HD. The new Omega HD can record either SD or HD video with high-quality JPEG2000 compression up to 300 Mbits/sec. The recorder allows users to simultaneously record, play, and store multiple SD and HD video files, create video clips, loops, and playlists utilizing the front panel for many applications, including graphics and key fill, spot insertion, and sports/instant replay.
The Omega HD offers an LCD screen for viewing video content, uses standard removable SATA drives, and can upscale recordings from FFV’s Xi deck or NDT 200 to HD. The recorder's file formats are compatable with Grass Valley™ and offers accurate frame control via RS-422 or Ethernet using standard control protocols.
Xi Series The new Xi Series is a new multi-use digital video recorder delivering broadcast-quality digital video in either single- or dual-channel models, offering fixed or removable SATA hard drives, optional SDI (serial digital interface), full variable speed playback control, as well as USB 2.0 download ports. With many configurations, the Xi Series is a powerful and flexible digital recorder designed to excel in many applications such as film production, video assist, in-studio, and presentation.
All models in the new Xi Series feature QuickTime™ file formats, composite and Y/C I/O, RS-422 control, scalable motion JPEG compression rates from 4:1 to 20:1, front panel touch screens, loop record, simple playlist management, two audio channels per video channel, and time code I/O.
XSX Camera-Based DVR As part of Grass Valley's Open Alliance Partnership (OAP) initiative, FFV has developed a new dockable digital recording solution for existing analogue cameras that incorporates the Grass Valley REV PRO Digital Media Drive. This is the first of potentially many FFV solutions supporting Grass Valley’s REV PRO media.
As part of a new product line, FFV will market this A/D conversion device using a built-in REV PRO drive that mounts on the back of an existing analogue camera and converts the signal from analog to digital, so that it can be recorded on REV PRO media. This new product, in essence, turns the analogue camera into a file-based digital recorder, supporting tapeless news and production workflows.
Users will gain all the advantages to capture, store, edit, exchange, and archive content. Thus, the low cost, removable, and durable REV PRO media provides a cost-effective alternative for customers making the conversion to a file-based infrastructure.[1]
