Water is symbol of life as well as a mean of cleansing or purification, water plays a

great role in many Christian religious rituals and has many mentions in the bible.

“Christ says that water is a mean to a new spiritual birth into the kingdom of heaven”

“Christ comes in water, blood, and spirit witnessing to one god”(john 5:6-8).

“He commands watery baptism in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit” (Matthew 28:19) “we were buried with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life”(roman 6:4).

Use of water in Christian ceremonies: Baptism is a symbol of liberation for the oppression of sin that separates us from god. Catholics believe that baptism does not itself clean one from sin, but it is rather a deceleration of a person belief and faith in Christ, and a welcome sign into the church. Living water: In the story of Jesus and a Samaritan women, to whom he offers a living water so that she will never thirst again. Holy water: Water is which blessed for use in certain rites as well as in blessing, dedications, exorcism, and burials.
