Script

Act 1

  • (We open this episode with theThomas and Friends Season 7 intro)
  • (After that, we begin the character introduction)
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas is a really useful engine. Here's Percy. He is a very happy engine. James is a magnificent engine. Gordon is the most fastest engine on the Island of Sodor. Henry is long and fast. Here's Edward always here to help. Toby is a different engine. He's a tram engine.
  • (A passing by sequence occurs and we begin What's The Matter With Henry?)
  • Michael Brandon: It was the end of a busy day. The engines have been working hard. They were feeling pleased and proud, except Henry. He was feeling ill.
  • Thomas: What's the matter with you, Henry?
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas asked.
  • Henry: My boiler's grumbling.
  • Thomas: Maybe it's grumbling at you.
  • Michael Brandon: Teased Thomas.
  • Henry: That's not funny.
  • Michael Brandon: Hissed Henry.
  • Henry: You just don't care.
  • Michael Brandon: But Emily saw that Henry was leaving a puddle of water behind. She was worried. The next morning, Sir Topham Hatt arrived.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas, Percy, Henry, I want you to collect some freight cars and take them to the docks.
  • Thomas and Percy: Yes sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Thomas and Percy. Henry watched the engines puff away. He didn't feel well.
  • Henry: Useful engines don't complain.
  • Michael Brandon: Henry muttered. He was leaving water everywhere as he chuffed towards the coaling plant. When Emily saw this she was more worried than ever. Then, Thomas and Percy overtook Henry.
  • Percy: Hurry up, Henry!
  • Michael Brandon: Percy tooted.
  • Henry: I can't go any faster.
  • Michael Brandon: Henry chuffed miserably.
  • Thomas: You're just being lazy.
  • Michael Brandon: Teased Thomas. By the time Thomas and Percy reached the coaling plant, they had a naughty plan.
  • Thomas: Please sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: Henry wants to take more freight cars.
  • Percy: He is bigger.
  • Michael Brandon: Added Percy. The yard manager agreed. Meanwhile, Emily was talking to Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Emily: I'm worried about Henry.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Hmm, perhaps his tubes are leaking.
  • Michael Brandon: Replied Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You better check.
  • Michael Brandon: By the time Henry reached the coaling plant, Thomas and Percy had already left.
  • Henry: Why did Thomas and Percy leave me so many freight cars?
  • Michael Brandon: Moaned Henry.
  • Henry: They know I'm not feeling well.
  • Henry's Driver: We'll still have to take them.
  • Michael Brandon: Said his driver. Henry chuffed and puffed and pulled his long line of freight cars.
  • Henry's Driver: You can do it, Henry.
  • Michael Brandon: Encouraged his driver. But it was no use. Henry ground to a halt. Just then, Emily arrived.
  • Emily: Are you all right, Henry?
  • Henry: No.
  • Michael Brandon: Moaned Henry.
  • Henry: I'm stuck.
  • Michael Brandon: Henry's fireman uncoupled the freight cars. Emily changed tracks and then hooked up to Henry.
  • Henry: Oh, thank you, Emily.
  • Michael Brandon: Wheeshed Henry. Emily and Henry puffed into the docks.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well done, Emily.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Emily: Thank you sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Then he spoke to Henry.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You were brave Henry. You aren't well, but you still tried to pull the heavy freight cars.
  • Michael Brandon: Thomas and Percy felt ashamed.
  • Thomas: We're sorry, Henry.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Thomas.
  • Percy: We didn't think you were really sick.
  • Michael Brandon: Added Percy.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Go back and collect Henry's freight cars.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Sir Topham Hatt sternly.
  • Thomas: Yes, sir.
  • Michael Brandon: Whispered Thomas. Soon, Henry was mended and back at work.
  • Emily: You're looking so much better.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Emily.
  • Henry: Well they mended my tubes. But they didn't even look at my brakes, my gauges, my squeaky wheels.
  • Michael Brandon: Emily smiled.
  • Emily: All in good time, Henry.
  • Michael Brandon: Poor Henry.
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin Really Useful Engine)
  • Children: (singing) He's a really useful engine you know. All the other engines they'll tell you so. He huffs and puffs and whistles, rushing to and fro. He's a really useful engine we adore! He's the one, he's the one. He's a really useful engine that we adore. He's the one. He's the number one, Thomas the Tank Engine. He's a really useful engine you know. Maybe little, but he's never slow. Stand back in amazement, just you watch him go. He's a really useful engine we adore! He's the one, he's the one. He's a really useful engine that we adore. He's the one. He's the number one, Thomas the Tank Engine. He's the really useful engine we adore!
  • (We follow the commercials after Act 1)

Act 2

  • (We open Act 2 with It's Only Snow)
  • Alec Baldwin: It's winter holiday time on the Island of Sodor. It's very cold, but the engines don't mind. They loved this time of year when the stations looked jolly in their decorations. There was plenty of work with passengers and parcels to be delivered no matter what the weather.
  • Edward: Driver says there's more snow on the way.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Edward.
  • James: We'll soon be wearing our snowploughs.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said James.
  • Henry: You'll enjoy that. Won't you, Thomas?
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Henry.
  • Thomas: You know I wont.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: I don't like my snowplough.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sure enough that night, the wind blew and the snow fell heavily. The next morning, Sir Topham Hatt arrived. He told the engines they would have snowploughs fitted.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: And you are to collect a special from Callan Station. It's needed for the village feast on Toby's branch line.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas was excited about his special, but not about his snowplough.
  • Thomas: Please sir. My plough is awkward and uncomfortable. Do I have to wear it?
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Everyone has to wear a snowplough.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt. The fitters, his driver and fireman all helped with Thomas' snowplough.
  • Thomas' Driver: We'll have to try that again.
  • Alec Baldwin: Laughed his driver.
  • Thomas: Big horrid awkward thing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas grumbled. He was much happier when he arrived at Callan Station and saw his special. It was a beautiful Christmas tree.
  • Edward: The tree will have lights and stand in the middle of the village.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Edward.
  • Edward: Make sure you get it to Toby safely.
  • Thomas: I will.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas. Thomas arrived at Maithwaite and Toby was very happy to see him.
  • Toby: The villagers will be delighted with this tree.
  • Alec Baldwin: Toby said.
  • Toby: I'm glad you had your snowplough. I can't clear the snowdrifts by myself.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas couldn't see there was a huge rock buried under the snow. Suddenly, his snowplough hit the rock.
  • Thomas: Bouncing buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Exclaimed Thomas.
  • Thomas: My plough is broken!
  • Alec Baldwin: His driver tried to stop but the broken plough hit the water tower.
  • Thomas: Cinders and ashes!
  • Alec Baldwin: Exclaimed Thomas.
  • Thomas' Driver: We can't go any further.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas' driver.
  • Thomas' Driver: And there's no one to help us.
  • Thomas: But the villagers need their tree.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: Let me try again, I'm sure I can make it.
  • Alec Baldwin: It wasn't easy without a snowplough. But Thomas was determined. He pushed and he pushed and he pushed. Thomas was trying as hard as he could, but there was just one snowdrift after another. Finally, Thomas and Toby were pulling into the village station. Thomas whistled and the villagers cheered when they saw their beautiful tree.
  • Villagers: Hooray!
  • Alec Baldwin: They said.
  • Villagers: Hooray!
  • Alec Baldwin: The next day, Sir Topham Hatt sent for Thomas. Thomas was worried. What would Sir Topham Hatt say about his broken snowplough? But Sir Topham Hatt wasn't cross, he was very pleased.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: The villagers had a wonderful feast.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You were very brave to take on that snow without a plough.
  • Thomas: Thank you, Sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: As you know...
  • Alec Baldwin: Continued Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: ...there are no spare snowploughs. So, you'll just have to do without yours for a while.
  • Thomas: Oh, thank you, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Grinned Thomas.
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin The Snow Song)
  • Children: (singing) You wake to the silence the bright afterglow. Now there's a surprise for what do you know. It's snowing. Look, it's snowing. Little Jack Frost has been busy last night. The Island of Sodor is a blanket of white 'Cause it's snowing. Yes, it's snowing. White winter wonderland. Beautiful day. Snow, snow, snow, snow.
  • (Children laughing)
  • Children: (singing) White winter wonderland. Beautiful day. Snow, snow, snow, snow. Snow, snow, snow, snow. Stay, stay, please stay.
  • (We follow the commercials after Act 2)

Act 3

  • (Act 3 opens with Bulgy Rides Again)
  • Michael Brandon: In the summertime there is no better place to be than the Island of Sodor. The engines are happy to show vacationers the wonderful sights to be seen. But this year, there was a problem. Thomas and Emily were in the foundry for repairs.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I need to find a way to carry more passengers.
  • Michael Brandon: Grumbled Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: We have more vacationers.
  • Emily: And fewer engines.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Emily.
  • Thomas: A double decker problem.
  • Michael Brandon: Added Thomas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: A double decker problem? Hmm.
  • Michael Brandon: This gave Sir Topham Hatt an idea. He drove straight to Bulgy's field. Bulgy is a double decker bus. He was turned into a hen house after he caused the silly accident.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Good news, Bulgy, I'm putting you back on the road.
  • Bulgy: Thank you, sir. I'll be the best bus ever.
  • Michael Brandon: Bulgy never liked being a hen house anyway. The next day, he went to the foundry.
  • Thomas: Bulgy!
  • Michael Brandon: Exclaimed Thomas.
  • Thomas: What are you doing here?
  • Bulgy: I'm being repaired, I'm going back on the road.
  • Emily: I think you'll be helping the new farmer.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Emily.
  • Emily: He needs to deliver his vegetables around the island.
  • Bulgy: Vegetables!? Hmph! I'm going to carry passengers!
  • Michael Brandon: Soon, Bulgy was refitted inside and out. He looked smart and shiny. Even James was impressed.
  • James: Ooooo.
  • Michael Brandon: When Bulgy returned to his field, the hens thought their old house looked splendid.
  • Bulgy's Driver: We'll start in the morning.
  • Michael Brandon: Said his driver.
  • Bulgy's Driver: You'll stay here tonight.
  • Michael Brandon: Bulgy was soon fast asleep. But the hens missed their old home. One by one, they crept aboard and went to sleep in the luggage racks. Bulgy knew nothing. The next morning Bulgy picked up lots of passengers.
  • Bulgy: All aboard.
  • Michael Brandon: He tooted and set off for the station. He was driving so smoothly that the hens didn't wake up. All was well until Bulgy turned a corner. Trevor was pulling a hay-cart.
  • Bulgy: Get out of my way!
  • Michael Brandon: He overtook Trevor. Bulgy swerved, the hens woke up, the passengers panicked and Bulgy's driver lost control. The hens were frightened. They flapped, they squawked.
  • Bulgy's Passengers: Stop!
  • Michael Brandon: Cried Bulgy's passengers.
  • Bulgy's Passengers: We want to get off!
  • Michael Brandon: The passengers were covered in feathers and broken eggs. They were very cross.
  • Bulgy's Passengers: This bus is full of hens!
  • Michael Brandon: They complained.
  • Bulgy's Passengers: We shall tell Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Bulgy: It's not my fault.
  • Michael Brandon: Sulked Bulgy. Sir Topham Hatt sent Bulgy to be cleaned.
  • Bulgy: Silly hens, silly passengers, you can have them both.
  • Emily: The farmer still needs help with his vegetables.
  • Michael Brandon: Said Emily.
  • Bulgy: A vegetable bus? Hmmm, hey that's not such a bad idea.
  • Thomas: And we're back carrying passengers.
  • Michael Brandon: Smiled Thomas. Bulgy is happy now. He has new green paintwork and a smart serving hatch. Sir Topham Hatt agreed he could become the island's only vegetable stand on wheels. Bulgy likes carrying vegetables. They don't lay eggs and they never complained.
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover)
  • Children: (singing) Thomas first saw Terence the Tractor plowing in a field one day and he said, "My oh my, you do look funny. Where are your wheels, are your wheels, are your wheels? How ever do you move along? You really do look funny." "Don't be so rude", said Terence the Tractor "I don't have wheels like you Because my caterpillar tracks are so much better. And I can go anywhere, anywhere, anywhere I don't need rails like you. One day I will prove it, show you how I do it Then you will understand... That you don't judge a book by its cover Don't make your mind up too soon Things aren't necessarily Always what they appear to be Don't judge a book by its cover Don't make your mind up too soon Never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never Never judge a book by its cover Don't judge a book by its cover Don't make your mind up too soon Things aren't necessarily Always what they appear to be. Don't judge a book by its cover Just remember the rule Never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never Never judge a book.... By its cover!
  • (Following the last song, we find the end credits with Thomas looking at us)
  • (While they roll, the Thomas end theme plays)
  • (After that, the 2003 HiT Entertainment logo appears)
