Woolly Bear is the twenty-fifth episode of the second season of Bashful the Dwarf and Friends and the fifty-first episode overall. It is a parody of the Thomas and Friends episode of the same name.
- Bashful as Thomas
- Sneezy as Percy
- Sleepy as Toby (does not speak)
- Mrs. Potts & Fifi (from Beauty & the Beast) as Annie & Clarabel (cameo)
- Walt Disney as Sir Topham Hatt (mentioned)
Narrator: "In the summer, the workcrews cut the long grass along the roads, raking it up for heaps to dry in the sun.
At this time of year, Sneezy stops where they have been cutting. The workmen give them to the monkeys, and he takes them to the station.
Sleepy then takes them to the hills for the farmers to feed their stock."
Narrator: "Sneezy gave a ghostly whistle."
Sneezy: "Don't be frightened, Bashful!"
Narrator: "He laughed."
Sneezy: "It's only me!"
Bashful: "Your ugly fizz is enough to frighten anyone!"
Narrator: "Said Bashful."
Bashful: "You're like..."
Sneezy: "Ugly, indeed! I'm..."
Bashful: "A brown caterpillar with a cold!"
Narrator: "Continued Bashful firmly."
Bashful: "You crawl like one, too."
Sneezy: "I don't!"
Bashful: "Who's been late every afternoon this week?"
Sneezy: "It's the hay!"
Bashful: "I can't help that."
Narrator: "Said Bashful."
Bashful: "Time's time, and Walt Disney's relying on me to keep it! I can't if you crawl about in the hay till' all hours!"
Sneezy: "'Brown caterpillar' indeed!"
Narrator: "Fumed Sneezy. He set off to collect some hay to take to the harbor."
Sneezy: "Everyone says I'm handsome, or at least nearly everyone. Anyway, my jacket is better than Bashful's pants. Bashful says I'm always late."
Narrator: "He grumbled."
Sneezy: "I'm never late, or at least only a few minutes. What's that to Bashful? He can always catch up time further on."
Narrator: "All the same, he and his driver decided to start home early.
Then came trouble."
"A crate of Treacle was upset all over Sneezy.
Sneezy was cross.
He was still sticky when he puffed away.
The wind was blowing fiercely."
Sneezy's Driver: "Look at that!"
Narrator: "Exclaimed the driver.
The wind caught the piled hay, tossing it up and over the road. The line climbed here."
Sneezy's Driver: "Take a run at it, Sneezy!"
Narrator: "His driver replied.
Sneezy gathered speed, but the hay made the road slippery, and his feet wouldn't grip. Time after time, he stalled with spinning feet and had to wait till' the line ahead was cleared before he could start again.
Everyone was waiting. Bashful seethed impatiently."
Bashful: "Ten minutes late! I warned him! Passengers will complain, and Walt Disney..."
Narrator: "Then, they all saw Sneezy. They laughed and shouted."
Sneezy: "Sorry I'm late!"
Narrator: "Sneezy panted."
Bashful: "Look what's crawled out of the hay!"
Narrator: "Teased Bashful."
Sneezy: "What's wrong?"
Narrator: "Asked Sneezy."
Bashful: "Talk about hairy caterpillars!"
Narrator: "Puffed Bashful."
Bashful: "It's worth being late to have seen you."
Narrator: "When Sneezy came home, his driver showed him what he looked like in a mirror."
Sneezy: "Oh, gosh! No wonder they all laughed. I'm just like a woolly bear! Please clean me before Sleepy comes."
Narrator: "But it was no good. Bashful told Sleepy all about it.
Instead of talking about 'sensible' things like 'playing ghosts', Bashful and Sleepy made jokes about woolly bear caterpillars, and other creatures which crawl about in hay. They laughed a lot, but Sneezy thought they were being really silly indeed.
