Narrator: "In the summer, the animators cut the long grass along the roads, raking it up for heaps to dry in the sun.
At this time of year, Piglet stops where they have been cutting. The animators give them to the monkeys, and he takes them to the station.
Friar Tuck then takes them to the hills for the farmers to feed their stock."
Narrator: "Piglet gave a ghostly whistle."
Piglet: "Don't be frightened, Mickey!"
Narrator: "He laughed."
Piglet: "It's only me!"
Mickey: "Your ugly fizz is enough to frighten anyone!"
Narrator: "Said Mickey."
Mickey: "You're like..."
Piglet: "Ugly, indeed! I'm..."
Mickey: "A pink caterpillar with magenta stripes!"
Narrator: "Continued Mickey firmly."
Mickey: "You crawl like one, too."
Piglet: "I don't!"
Mickey: "Who's been late every afternoon this week?"
Piglet: "It's the hay!"
Mickey: "I can't help that."
Narrator: "Said Mickey."
Mickey: "Time's time, and Professor Porter's relying on me to keep it! I Can't if you crawl about in the hay till' all hours!"
Piglet: "'Pink caterpillar' indeed!"
Narrator: "Fumed Piglet. He set off to collect some hay to take to the harbor."
Piglet: "Everyone says I'm handsome, or at least nearly everyone. Anyway, my shirt is better than Mickey's pants. Mickey says I'm always late."
Narrator: "He grumbled."
Piglet: "I'm never late, or at least only a few minutes. What's that to Mickey? He can always catch up time further on."
Narrator: "All the same, he and his animator decided to start home early.
Then came trouble."
"A crate of Treacle was upset all over Piglet.
Piglet was cross.
He was still sticky when he puffed away.
The wind was blowing fiercely."
Piglet's Animator: "Look at that!"
Narrator: "Exclaimed the Animator.
The wind caught the piled hay, tossing it up and over the road. The line climbed here."
Piglet's Animator: "Take a run at it, Piglet!"
Narrator: "His Animator replied.
Piglet gathered speed. but the hay made the road slippery, and his feet wouldn't grip. Time after time, he stalled with spinning feet and had to wait till' the line ahead was cleared before he could start again.
Everyone was waiting. Mickey seethed impatiently."
Mickey: "Ten minutes late! I warned him! Passengers will complain, and Professor Porter..."
Narrator: "Then, they all saw Piglet. They laughed and shouted."
Piglet: "Sorry I'm late!"
Narrator: "Piglet panted."
Mickey: "Look what's crawled out of the hay!"
Narrator: "Teased Mickey."
Piglet: "What's wrong?"
Narrator: "Asked Piglet."
Mickey: "Talk about hairy caterpillars!"
Narrator: "Puffed Mickey."
Mickey: "It's worth being late to have seen you."
Narrator: "When Piglet came home, his animator showed him what he looked like in a mirror."
Piglet: "Oh, d-d-d-dear! No wonder they all laughed. I'm just like a wooly bear! Please clean me before Friar Tuck comes."
Narrator: "But it was no good. Mickey told Friar Tuck all about it.
Instead of talking about 'sensible' things like 'playing ghosts', Mickey and Friar Tuck made jokes about wooly bear caterpillars, and other creatures which crawl about in hay. They laughed a lot, but Piglet thought they were being really silly indeed.
