Narrator: "Braeburn is an earth pony. He looks very different from the other stallions. He is yellow, and he wears a hat and vest. Braeburn is not as strong as the other animals, but he always tries his hardest.

One morning, Braeburn was delivering some wagons of milk. He puffed across the town and up Big Macintosh's Hill. Big Macintosh's Hill was very steep. Braeburn puffed hard. It was a long climb.

Just then, Big Mac arrived at the bottom of the hill. But today, the express was heavy. And Big Mac had to wait for Shining Armor to help."

Big Macintosh: "Bother!"

Narrator: "Huffed Big Mac.

Soon, Shining Armor puffed to the rescue. He walked up behind Big Mac. Shining Armor pushed and Big Mac pulled.

At last, the express buffaloes started to move.

Braeburn had finally reached the top of the hill when Big Mac puffed past."

Big Macintosh: "Slowpoke!"

Narrator: "Big Mac huffed."

Braeburn: "I'm trying my hardest."

Narrator: "Gasped Braeburn."

Big Macintosh: "Pah!"

Narrator: "Sniffed Big Mac."

Big Macintosh: "You're not even a proper stallion!"

Narrator: "This made Braeburn feel very sad.

That night, Hoity Toity came to see Braeburn."

Hoity Toity: "Shining Armor is needed at the docks."

Narrator: "Sir Topham Hatt said."

Hoity Toity: "You are to work at the train station in his place."

Braeburn: "But I'll never be able to do Shining Armor's job."

Narrator: "Braeburn cried."

Braeburn: "He's a proper stallion."

Hoity Toity: "Nonsense!"

Narrator: "Said Hoity Toity."

Hoity Toity: "You are one of my ponies, and you must be useful."

Narrator: "Braeburn was very worried. What if he wasn't useful?

The next morning, Braeburn puffed nervously out of the house."

Braeburn: "I hope no one needs pushing up Big Mac's Hill."

Narrator: "Puffed Braeburn. Braeburn wished he was a proper stallion.

At last, Braeburn arrived at the train station. There were lots of wagons, and they looked very heavy."

Braeburn: "I'll never be able to arrange all of those."

Narrator: "Braeburn puffed."

Spike: "You can do it, Braeburn!"

Narrator: "Called Spike. That made Braeburn feel much better. Then he started to arrange the wagons.

He arranged coal wagons for Filthy Rich, and slate wagons for Night Light. He even shunted fruit and vegetable wagons for Hondo Flanks."

Braeburn: "Maybe I can do it."

Narrator: "Braeburn chuffed. But then, Big Macintosh puffed past. He was pulling the express with lots of buffaloes. Braeburn watched as Big Mac puffed towards the hill.

Big Mac puffed with all his might. But once again, the express was too heavy. Big Mac was stuck."

Big Macintosh: "Bother!"

Narrator: "He huffed. Big Mac's driver called the yard manager. And the yard manager came to see Braeburn."

Yard Manager: "You need to push Big Mac to the top of the hill."

Narrator: "The yard manager said."

Braeburn: "Yes, sir."

Narrator: "Groaned Braeburn."

Braeburn: "But Big Mac looks much too heavy for me to push."

Narrator: "Braeburn puffed nervously."

Spike: "Don't worry."

Narrator: "Spike called."

Spike: "You can do it, Braeburn."

Braeburn: "I'll do my best."

Narrator: "He puffed. And he chuffed off to Big Mac's Hill.

When Big Mac heard that Braeburn was coming, he was very cross."

Big Macintosh: "Braeburn's only a little pony."

Narrator: "Big Mac huffed."

Big Macintosh: "He will never be able to push me up the hill!"

Narrator: "Braeburn walked up behind Big Mac. Then he pushed with all his might. Big Mac didn't move."

Big Macintosh: "Is that the best you can do?"

Narrator: "Big Mac snorted."

Big Macintosh: "They should have sent a proper stallion!"

Narrator: "Braeburn was about the give up. But then he remembered what Spike had said."

Braeburn: "I can do it, I can do it."

Narrator: "Braeburn panted. Braeburn pushed harder, and harder. Suddenly, Big Mac's hooves started to move. Braeburn kept pushing. His body roared, his hooves ached.

Big Mac moved slowly up the hill. When Pipsqueak saw Braeburn pushing, he whistled with excitement."

Pipsqueak: "You can do it, Toby! Go on!"

Narrator: "Cried Pipsqueak. Braeburn huffed and puffed and chuffed, but at last, he pushed Big Mac right to the top of the hill. Big Mac was impressed. Now his express would run on time. Braeburn was tired, but he was very proud."

Braeburn: "I did it!"

Narrator: "He puffed excitedly.

That night, Hoity Toity came to see Braeburn."

Hoity Toity: "Today, you were a very useful pony indeed."

Narrator: "He said."

Braeburn: "Thank you, sir."

Narrator: "Braeburn chuffed. And even though Braeburn was a little earth pony, he felt like a proper stallion after all."
