Peter Wessel Zapffe was a philosopher who said the same things Andrew Truelove does ('life is meaningless; thus, don't have kids, because it's inhumane'). Zapffe was just like Schopenhauer- they both are unlike other Existentialist philosophers (like Nietszche, Sartre, and Camus) who copped out in the end and found optimism by doing what almost all people who don't adhere to religion/supernaturalism do: finding meaning in meaningless things in life.

[edit] Biography
Zapffe was born in Tromso, Norway on December 18th, 1899 and lived for 90 years until his death on October 12th, 1990.
Zapffe's theory is that humans are born with an overdeveloped skill (understanding, self-knowledge) which does not fit into nature's design. The human craving for justification on matters such as life and death cannot be satisfied, hence humanity has a need that nature cannot provide satisfaction for. The tragedy, following this theory is that humans spend all their time trying not to be human. The human being, therefore, is a paradox.
Zapffe was a prolific mountain climber and author of many humorous short stories about climbing and other adventures in nature, taking a very early interest in environmentalism.
Zapffe was heavily influenced by the works of Ibsen.
